If your lens has a 3/8" mounting hole instead of the smaller 1/4" hole you can purchase a brass reducer bushing which will solve this problem. See the lens compatibility chart for recommendations on purchasing brass bushings. Eg. for Canon 400 f2.8 IS, 500 f4.0 IS, 600 4.0 non IS & IS, 600 f4.5, 800 f5.6 and Sigma 300-800 f5.6
