The crucial prerequisite: you need a 75 mm video adapter bowl. Without this base the unit simply makes no sense; with it, it fits properly and sits securely. The locking screws help you secure the mounted tripod head against twisting. The star grip sits firmly in the hand, even when wearing gloves.
