If you don’t just want to carry your tripod, but also have it quickly at hand, the Leofoto LM tripod carrying strap is a pretty obvious solution. The strap is designed for tripods with a 3/8" UNC thread in the tripod shoulder and in this version comes with a 36 mm tripod clamp. That may sound technical – and it is – but that’s exactly what makes it so pleasant in everyday use: it sits right, it holds, and you don’t have to fiddle around for long.
Tear-resistant nylon webbing with specific dimensions
Leofoto uses tear-resistant nylon webbing here, 31 mm wide and 1,400 mm long. These dimensions are not just “standard”, but noticeably practical: wide enough so the strap doesn’t cut into your shoulder, and long enough so you can comfortably carry the tripod over your shoulder or across your body. There’s a bit of leeway, which is often just right when you’re on the go.
QD 1 quick releases at both ends, on fast, off fast
There is a QD 1 quick release at each end of the strap. At one end this quick release is combined with a QDC tripod clamp, here in the 36 mm size. At the other end you’ll also find a QD 1 quick release, but there it is combined with the QDM 2 special screw with 3/8" thread. This makes the Leofoto LM quick-release carrying strap suitable for tripods with a 3/8" thread and, depending on the clamp chosen, for a maximum leg diameter of 32 mm, 36 mm or 40 mm. This offer is for the 36 mm version, but the system logic remains the same.
Mounting on the tripod leg and on the 3/8" thread below the tripod plate
The attachment is clearly structured. You mount the QDC clamp on one of the leg sections of your tripod. The QDM 2 special screw with 3/8" is screwed into the 3/8" thread located on the side below the tripod plate. Then you dock the two QD 1 quick releases onto their respective mounting points; this works without much thought – one click and it’s in place.
Push button for release when things need to be fast
If you want to remove the strap again, simply press the buttons marked “Push” on the QD 1 quick releases. The strap then detaches from the tripod. It’s the kind of small detail that suddenly becomes important on the go, because you don’t want to start loosening screws or searching for carabiners. Press, off, done. And yes, in use this really does feel pleasantly direct.

The strap for the 3/8" UNC thread in the tripod shoulder is available in different sizes. Please determine the correct size of the thickest tripod leg, because the clamp is based precisely on that. The options are:
