RRS-Lock System and Safety Mechanism

The RRS-Lock system (short for Rapid-Lock) offers unique safety stop features that are integrated into both a mounting rail and a quick-release clamp, conforming to the RRS 1.5-inch standard. The advantage of the system is that the user has multiple “hard stop” positions along the rail, while maintaining smooth edges and corners for maximum ergonomics and a snag-free interface that is inherently wear-resistant. The “hard stop” function consists of a 5 mm diameter steel pin that engages with 5.5 mm diameter holes in the rail. The interface not only complements the conventional friction-based clamping mechanism, but also prevents unintentional repositioning of the rail within the clamp when the RRS-LOCK is engaged.
