Kirk BL-GFX100II camera L-bracket for Fuji GFX 100 II

Arca-Style compatible for smooth work in landscape and portrait orientation

If you use your FUJIFILM GFX 100 II seriously in the studio or on location, you know the situation: constantly repositioning on the tripod, fiddling with the quick-release plate, small uncertainties in portrait orientation. The Kirk BL-GFX100II camera L-bracket solves exactly this problem because it is fully ARCA compatible and integrates seamlessly into all common Arca-Style compatible 38 mm quick-release clamps. We’re talking about a precisely milled clamping profile that works with quick-release clamps from Kirk, Wimberley and other Arca-Style systems, giving you a very direct, fast switch between landscape and portrait orientation without having to constantly realign the plate.

The L-bracket is designed to fit snugly to the shape of the FUJIFILM GFX 100 II and to connect positively with the camera. This form-fitting design prevents twisting with longer focal lengths or somewhat rougher handling and ensures that your alignment remains stable, even if you change perspective more frequently. Thanks to its compact dimensions, with a width of about 11.3 cm, a height of 9.7 cm and a depth of 4.3 cm, the L-bracket can remain permanently on the camera without getting in the way in everyday use. Many users simply leave it mounted all the time because it adds hardly any bulk and at the same time makes the camera easier to hold.

On the underside you’ll find a 1/4" UNC tripod thread, so you can also mount the L-bracket directly on a tripod head or other accessories that are not equipped with an ARCA quick-release clamp. In addition, there is a strap eyelet in case you prefer to attach your camera strap in the classic way. The whole thing is black anodized, which not only looks discreet but also makes the surface permanently resistant to scratches and signs of use.

Developed specifically for this camera: custom-fit L-bracket for FUJIFILM GFX 100 II

This L-bracket is not some universal solution that kind of fits, but was developed specifically for this camera, the FUJIFILM GFX 100 II. You notice it immediately when you mount it: the contours follow the camera body, the contact surfaces sit firmly, nothing wobbles, nothing feels improvised. Because the bracket is not universal but tailored exactly to this model, access to the most important controls and ports is maintained, so you don’t have to keep taking it off in everyday use just to reach a flap.

Especially with a medium format camera like the GFX 100 II, which is often used on a tripod, a well-fitting, camera-specific L-bracket is worth its weight in gold. You can switch between landscape and portrait orientation without shifting the camera’s center of gravity significantly, which relieves the tripod head and increases stability. Thanks to the form-fitting connection to the camera, you get reliable twist protection that enables a noticeably steadier setup even with heavy lenses or panoramic heads. We would almost say: once you get used to this comfort, a bare camera body on a tripod suddenly feels surprisingly impractical.

A small but very useful detail in everyday use is the integrated hex key. It is stored directly in the L-bracket, so you always have the tool for loosening or tightening the screw with you. No searching in the camera bag, no “Where did I put that hex key again?”, it’s just there when you need it. Together with the existing strap eyelet and the precise adaptation to the camera, this results in an accessory that is very unobtrusive in daily use but extremely helpful.

Made in the USA from robust 6061-T6 aluminum

The Kirk BL-GFX100II is made from 6061-T6 aluminum, a material used in aviation and high-end mechanical engineering. This aluminum is lightweight yet very rigid and durable, so the L-bracket supports your FUJIFILM GFX 100 II reliably without adding unnecessary weight to your camera bag. In practice, this means you get a very solid, confidence-inspiring part that hardly warps or wears out even after years of intensive use.

The surface is black anodized, which not only harmonizes visually with the camera body but also provides additional protection for the aluminum structure. The anodized layer acts like a thin, hard armor against scratches, abrasion and light impacts. Especially if you are frequently on location and often set the camera down on concrete, rock or metal, this robust finish really pays off. We often see such L-brackets still in use after years, perhaps with a few honest signs of wear, but technically completely unimpressed.

Because the L-bracket is manufactured in the USA, you benefit from very careful production with tight tolerances. The precise fit on the camera and within the Arca-Style system is no coincidence but the result of accurate CNC machining. You can feel it in the clean edges, the precisely positioned threaded holes and the overall very coherent feel. It simply feels like a part you’re happy to mount on a high-quality camera like the GFX 100 II.

With QD strap anchor mount for flexible carrying options

The Kirk BL-GFX100II features a QD strap mount, i.e. an integrated mount for QD-compatible strap systems. This is particularly practical if you want to attach and detach your camera strap quickly, for example when switching between handheld shooting and a completely “free” setup on the tripod. Thanks to the QD-compatible design, you can use modern straps with QD strap anchors that lock securely with a click and can be released just as quickly.

To use the QD strap mount, you need a suitable strap with QD strap anchors, which you can purchase separately. You can find more information here. This combination of L-bracket and QD strap system makes your FUJIFILM GFX 100 II significantly more flexible in handling, because you can spontaneously decide, depending on the situation, whether the camera should hang on the strap or sit completely “free” on the tripod.

In addition to the QD mount, there is a classic strap eyelet if you prefer to work with conventional camera straps or want to set up a hybrid solution using both systems. This allows you to integrate the L-bracket into your existing setup very easily without having to change everything. The result is a carrying system that can be very well adapted to your personal working style, whether you tend to work calmly in the studio or fast and mobile outdoors.

Precise sensor center marking for exact alignment and panoramas

One detail that is easy to overlook but extremely helpful in practice is the integrated sensor center marking. This marking shows you the exact position of the sensor center, which is almost indispensable, especially for panoramic photography. When you carefully build your panoramas, the sensor center helps you plan the pivot point and composition precisely so that the individual frames can later be stitched together cleanly.

Even beyond panoramas, the sensor center marking is useful, for example when precisely aligning architectural subjects, reproductions, or shots where symmetry and geometry play a major role. This allows you to align your GFX 100 II very accurately with lines, edges or axes without having to rely solely on the display or viewfinder. Especially on a tripod, when millimeter-accurate alignment is required, this small marking quickly becomes a tool you won’t want to be without.

In combination with the form-fitting connection to the camera and the Arca-Style compatible base, this creates a very well thought-out system for anyone who frequently uses their FUJIFILM GFX 100 II on a tripod and values reproducible, precisely aligned shots. The Kirk BL-GFX100II is not a loud, obtrusive accessory, but rather a quiet helper that makes your work in the background significantly more pleasant and reliable.
