LensCoat TravelCoat for Nikon 500mm VR FL with lens hood - Realtree Max5
Suitable protection for large 500mm telephoto lenses
This TravelCoat is designed for the Nikon 500mm f/4E FL ED VR AF-S NIKKOR as well as the Sigma 500mm F4 DG OS HSM | Sports. Especially for a high-quality super-telephoto lens, a well-fitting transport cover is useful so that surfaces are better protected from abrasion, dust, and light impacts when stowing, carrying, and storing. This way your equipment is better preserved in everyday use and is ready for action again more quickly.
Material and construction
Made from 3 mm thick neoprene with hook-and-loop fastener.
The material protects your lens during transport without adding unnecessary bulk. At the same time, the hook-and-loop fastener ensures that the cover can be put on and taken off quickly. This is especially practical if you frequently move your super-telephoto between use, transport case, and backpack.
Additional component for complete front protection
For complete protection of your lens, you additionally need a suitable lens cap (LensCoat Hoodie).
Since there is no specifically referenced hoodie size for this version, the deliberately general wording “hoodie in the appropriate size” is used here. This allows you to add the front protection to match your setup.
Thought-out shape for transport
- For lens with lens hood attached
- With opening for lens foot
- Can be used together with LensCoat lens cover.
The opening for the lens foot makes stowing easier and ensures a practical, real-world fit. The fact that the TravelCoat can be used with the lens hood mounted saves you extra steps when packing and makes the protection particularly suitable for everyday use.
Realtree Max5 for nature photography in reeds and shoreline areas
The Realtree Max5 camouflage pattern is particularly interesting for use in wetlands, along shorelines, in reed areas, and in natural environments with brown, sand, and green tones. It helps to visually break up the contours of large telephoto lenses and is significantly less conspicuous than a solid, dark surface.
Especially in wildlife and nature photography, this is a useful advantage when you want your setup to attract less attention in its surroundings. At the same time, the pattern looks particularly harmonious and practical in outdoor use.
Practical benefits for stowing and storage
A TravelCoat is ideal if you want to transport your lens more safely or store it cleanly. The neoprene reduces direct contact with other pieces of equipment and thus protects against typical marks that can quickly occur during hectic use. Especially with large telephoto lenses, this is a real plus for value retention and for a well-kept overall appearance.
