Leofoto MP-364C carbon monopod

Leofoto MP-364C carbon monopod for DSLR, DSLM and telephoto photography

If you want to bring more stability into your shots when you’re on the go, without having to carry a big tripod, the Leofoto MP-364C fits very well into your setup. It’s a carbon monopod designed for DSLR and DSLM, and it really plays to its strengths wherever things need to move fast: travel photography, sports photography, telephoto photography. You stay mobile, but still get noticeably more stability in your hands.

We notice it again and again, especially with long focal lengths: a solid monopod doesn’t do the work for you, but it does take the load off your arms and shoulders. And yes, after a few hours that really makes a difference.

Compact to transport, long when extended

With a transport length of 54.5 cm, the MP-364C stays pleasantly compact, even when space in your backpack is tight. Fully extended, you reach a maximum height of 170 cm, i.e. 1.70 m max extension length. In practice, that’s exactly the range where you can work comfortably without constantly contorting yourself.

The monopod has 4 leg sections and a total of 3 extensions. The leg sections feature twist-lock anti-rotation, which makes extending and locking them smoother, because nothing twists against each other when you’re in a hurry.

Load capacity up to 20 kg, with a weight of only 584 g

The maximum load is 20 kg. That’s not just a number, it gives you room to work even with a heavy DSLR, battery grip and large telephoto lens. At the same time, the weight remains pleasantly low: 584 g, i.e. 0.584 kg. For a monopod in this class, that’s very comfortable, especially when travelling or at longer sports events.

Carbon, 10-layer wrapped, and grippy handling

For the material, Leofoto relies on carbon, wrapped in 10 layers. This provides a good mix of rigidity and low weight, without feeling flimsy. The diameters of the monopod leg sections are 36 / 32 / 28 / 25 mm. The stronger upper section in particular makes a difference when you put weight on it and really use the monopod as a support.

The top section is covered with foam. That may sound simple, but in everyday use it’s worth its weight in gold: better handling, a more secure grip, and in cold weather you’re not grabbing bare material. It also makes it a bit more comfortable to carry.

Top mounting thread with reversible stud, plus wrist strap

At the top you’ll find a 1/4" UNC and 3/8" UNC mounting thread via a reversible stud. This lets you stay flexible depending on the head or direct mounting, without having to look for adapters first. The integrated wrist strap is included and helps you guide the monopod securely, especially when you’re moving or changing position quickly.

Tripod type and areas of use, the way you actually use it

As a monopod, the Leofoto MP-364C is at its best when you want stability but don’t have the time or space for a tripod. For travel photography it’s practical thanks to the compact 54.5 cm transport length, for sports photography because of the quick handling, and for telephoto photography thanks to the high load capacity of up to 20 kg. DSLR or DSLM, both are a good match, depending on what you’re currently using.
