If you often carry your tripod in your hand, you know: a good carrying strap makes all the difference. The Leofoto LS tripod carrying strap is made exactly for this. It is made of woven nylon webbing, is 31 mm wide and 1.40 m long, feels comfortable to wear and doesn’t feel bulky. And yes, it is designed to fit tripods with a 1/4" UNC thread and here comes in the version with a tripod clamp for a 28 mm leg diameter.
Material, dimensions and everyday carrying comfort
The strap is made of robust woven nylon. A width of 31 mm is a practical middle ground: wide enough so it doesn’t cut into your shoulder, but not so wide that it constantly gets in the way while carrying. With a length of 1.40 m you have enough leeway to carry the tripod comfortably without it dangling awkwardly. We’d say it just feels right in everyday use, especially when you have to walk a bit to your spot.
QD 1 quick releases at both ends
At one end there is a QD 1 quick release, combined with a QDC tripod clamp in the size of your choice. For this product it is the 28 mm clamp, matching the thickest leg diameter of your tripod.
At the other end there is also a QD 1 quick release, but with a QDM 1 special screw with 1/4" thread. It is precisely this combination that makes the Leofoto LS quick-release carrying strap so flexible, because it lets you use tripods that have a 1/4" thread and whose thickest leg segment matches the selected clamp.
Mounting on the tripod in just a few steps
You attach the QDC clamp to one of the tripod’s leg segments. The QDM 1 special screw with 1/4" is screwed into the 1/4" thread located on the side below the tripod plate. Then you dock the two QD 1 quick releases onto the respective mounting elements; this works without much fiddling.
To detach them, press the buttons marked "Push" on the QD 1 quick releases, and the strap is separated from the tripod again. This is practical when you want to switch quickly from carrying to working. You notice the advantage immediately after doing it a few times.
QD note and correct size
The tripod carrying strap is QD compatible and designed for quick switching between transport and use. The QD 1 quick releases in particular make handling pleasantly straightforward, because you can attach and detach the strap quickly.
It is important that you choose the clamp size to match the thickest diameter of your tripod leg. The strap for the 1/4" UNC thread in the tripod shoulder is available in different sizes. Please determine the correct diameter of the thickest tripod leg so that the clamp fits properly.

Tip
Like all mechanical components, QD adapters need occasional maintenance so that the pins function reliably. We maintain our adapters with Ballistol or WD-40.
