With the Manfrotto MVAQR Base, you bring the heart of the MOVE Quick Release System to your rig. The idea is simple but invaluable in everyday use: you insert the matching MOVE plate into the base and are immediately ready to shoot. No fiddling, no lengthy readjustments. One movement, locked in.
The locking mechanism uses a bayonet lock as the clamping type, meaning clearly guided and defined. The knurled rotary lock sits securely in the hand and can be turned “a bit tighter” depending on the situation if you want particularly secure locking. Turn it the other way and the plate is released again with a single hand movement. That’s how quick release is supposed to work, honestly.
Robust CNC aluminum base with 3/8"-16 thread
The base is made from CNC-milled aluminum. You can tell: cleanly finished, stable, without being unnecessarily bulky. With its 60 x 37 mm it remains pleasantly compact and weighs in at 180 g, which doesn’t immediately make everything top-heavy on the tripod head or slider.
It is mounted via a 3/8"-16 mounting thread. This typically makes it compatible with many tripod heads, tripods, sliders, and also setups with stabilizers, depending on how your system is built. And yes, it feels ergonomic in use, not like a purely “technical part” that you only want to touch with the tips of your fingers.
