Ultimately small yet surprisingly functional. The Mini Groundpod 100 Lever is designed as a table tripod, floor tripod and mini tripod – exactly for those moments when you really want to get low without having to lug around a big setup. At only 210 g it stays practically unobtrusive in your bag, yet it doesn’t feel like a toy.
Here we use a 100 mm base plate with non-slip pad and integrated ball joint. The diameter of 10.0 cm is especially helpful on softer ground because the larger contact area simply adds more stability. The overall height is 4.9 cm, which means you can work close to the ground without the tripod getting in the frame or in your way. And yes, it’s actually fun to shoot like this because you don’t have to fight unnecessary weight or bulky dimensions.
Lever clamp, ARCA compatible and quick to use
The quick-release clamp is designed as a lever clamp, pleasantly smooth to operate and in everyday use faster than many screw clamps. A bubble level is integrated for alignment – a small detail that quickly makes a difference outdoors. There is also a center mark with scale created by laser engraving, so you don’t have to guess when positioning, but can work reproducibly even when things get hectic.
Range of movement at ground level: 360° rotation and 40° tilt
If you like to work with long focal lengths or want to track subjects on the ground, the mechanics work in your favor: the Groundpod allows 360° rotation and a tilt range of 40°. This lets you pan, track and tilt without constantly having to reposition the camera. It’s also practical for travel photography because you can quickly switch from ground-level details to a stable low-angle perspective without major reconfiguration.
Material mix and workmanship designed for everyday use
The base plate is made from glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic, combined with an anti-slip pad made from thermoplastic elastomer. This provides grip on smooth surfaces and a secure feel on uneven ground. Other components are made of aluminum and stainless steel, and the surface is black anodized – unobtrusive, robust, and compatible with almost any setup.
The floor tripod is delivered fully assembled, and the screw connections are secured with thread locker. In plain terms: unpack it, there’s nothing you need to assemble, and it remains stable even with frequent use.
