Really Right Stuff Cinch-LR Bino Polymer quick-release adapter for binoculars

Really Right Stuff Cinch-LR Bino Polymer quick-release adapter for binoculars, compact control for your optics

With the Really Right Stuff Cinch-LR Bino Polymer quick-release adapter, you literally take your binoculars out of your hands and place them cleanly on the tripod head. No more fiddling with improvised mounts, no more wobbly stopgap solutions, but a well-thought-out quick-release adapter that securely fixes your binoculars and still releases them in a flash when you need them.

The adapter reliably encloses the binocular body in the range of about 45 mm to 65 mm in diameter and is surprisingly easy to attach. You place the ring on, tighten the clamp, done – in everyday use this often takes less than half a minute. With a length of around 6.7 cm, a width of about 4.2 cm and a height of 5.0 cm, the system remains nicely compact so your setup doesn’t look unnecessarily bulky.

Lightweight, robust, glass fiber reinforced – the material makes the difference

The Cinch-LR Bino adapter is made from a high-quality nylon-based molded plastic that is additionally reinforced with glass fiber. That may sound technical at first, but in use it simply means you have a very lightweight yet surprisingly sturdy piece of gear in your hand. Weighing only around 45 g, the adapter adds virtually no bulk, yet fits easily into any camera bag, binocular case or simply into your jacket pocket.

All edges and corners are smoothly rounded, which you particularly notice when you spend a lot of time outdoors and put it on and take it off frequently. Nothing cuts into your fingers, nothing snags on straps or clothing. The surface feels pleasantly grippy without being overly rough. A small detail, but in everyday use you definitely notice it.

Arca-style compatible, seamless integration into your quick-release system

The Cinch-LR Bino Polymer adapter follows the proven 1.5 inch or 38 mm dovetail standard and is, according to the manufacturer, ARCA compatible. In practice this means you can insert it directly into a wide range of quick-release clamps that are virtually considered standard on the market. These include, among others, Wimberley clamps, Arca-style compatible (according to the manufacturer) 38 mm quick-release clamps, Really Right Stuff screw clamps, Really Right Stuff lever clamps, Acratech lever clamps, Acratech screw clamps and also Kirk clamps.

If you’d like to learn more about ARCA-compatible quick-release systems and suitable clamps for your setup, you’ll find further information in our section for matching quick-release solutions: ARCA compatible.

In addition, the adapter is designed to work with the Manfrotto RC2 dovetail system. So if you already use a Manfrotto head with an RC2 plate, you don’t have to change anything, but can clamp your binoculars directly using it. This is especially convenient if you frequently switch between camera and binoculars and don’t want to swap the entire tripod plate every time.

Made in the USA, precise manufacturing and practice-oriented design

The Cinch-LR Bino Polymer quick-release adapter is manufactured in the USA, and you can feel this in the combination of functionality and attention to detail. The design is fundamentally laid out to convince in the field: high stability, reliable clamping, ergonomic shape and workmanship that doesn’t feel “worn out” even after many uses.

The base of the adapter is black anodized, which not only looks discreet but also protects against scratches and wear. This black anodized surface blends unobtrusively into existing tripod or head systems without standing out in color. It’s clear that the focus here is on practicality and durability rather than short-lived design gimmicks.

Flexible orientation, vertical or parallel to the optical axis

An interesting aspect of this adapter is its flexibility in mounting. The Cinch-LR Polymer can be mounted either vertically or parallel to the optical plane of your binoculars. That may sound like a small detail, but in practice it makes a noticeable difference depending on whether you tend to work hand-held with brief tripod support or want your binoculars to rest fully on the tripod head for longer periods.

When mounted parallel, you get a very stable, well-balanced position, ideal for longer observations such as birdwatching or astronomical sessions. Mounted vertically, handling can be more comfortable for quick repositioning and transport, especially if you frequently switch your binoculars between tripod and shoulder strap.

Detachable strap, suitable for open and closed bridges

The Cinch-LR Bino adapter comes with a detachable strap that is suitable for binoculars with both open and closed bridges. You can route the strap through the buckle so that the excess part faces outward if you prefer to grab it quickly, or inward so that it follows the contour of the housing and looks particularly tidy.

This small freedom in strap routing may seem secondary at first, but especially on long tours, when every chafing point is annoying, it’s pleasant when nothing sticks out or constantly gets caught somewhere. And if you don’t need the strap at some point, you can simply remove it so that only the actual quick-release adapter remains on the binoculars.

Universally usable, for diameters from 45 mm to 65 mm

The adapter is designed for diameters from 45 mm to 65 mm and is therefore suitable for many common binoculars. Whether a classic 8x42, a compact 10x32 or a somewhat larger 10x50, within this range the Cinch-LR Bino Polymer quick-release adapter covers a wide spectrum. The clamping mechanism can be finely adjusted so that your binoculars sit securely without being excessively squeezed.

This range is particularly useful if you use several binoculars. You don’t need to buy a separate adapter for each one; instead you can simply move the Cinch-LR, adjust it and continue working. This saves space, weight and ultimately money, without forcing you to compromise on stability.

Thought-out base, 1/4"-20 UNC photo thread for additional options

On the underside of the adapter there is a mounting base with a 1/4"-20 UNC photo thread. This classic thread format opens up additional possibilities, for example if you want to mount the adapter directly on a small table support, a monopod or another accessory that does not use an ARCA or RC2 clamp.

This allows you to integrate the Cinch-LR Bino adapter flexibly into very different setups, from a compact travel tripod to a massive observation tripod. The photo thread is cleanly cut and solidly integrated into the base so that no play develops even with frequent mounting and unmounting.

Ergonomics and feel, small but clearly well thought out

All edges of the adapter are rounded for better feel and ergonomics. That may sound like marketing jargon, but it quickly becomes second nature when you use the piece daily. When tightening the clamp, repositioning it on the tripod or stowing it in your bag, nothing feels sharp or uncomfortably angular.

Combined with the low weight of about 45 g and the compact dimensions, this results in an accessory that you hardly notice in use, but which reliably ensures in the background that your binoculars are positioned stably, securely and repeatably. That’s exactly how a good quick-release adapter should work: unobtrusive but dependable.
