Tragopan PTARMIGAN Dome Hide Tent

A tent for sleeping, a hide for observing, all lightweight and compact enough to be carried for long hours of trekking without worrying about elevation changes: this was the brief for the new PTARMIGAN dome hide tent.

Not a single square centimetre of fabric was left to chance, no piece of string is too long, and no compromise was made regarding the lightness and strength of every material comprising this tent. The weight – above all, the weight – was paramount. 

Constructed from durable 20-denier nylon with silicone coating, featuring aluminium poles and pegs, and ultra-fine, reinforced guylines, every material used in the PTARMIGAN is of the highest quality. This rigorous selection ensures exceptional lightness combined with great durability, essential for your expeditions. 

 The Ideal Companion for Trekking Photographers 

 This dome hide tent is the perfect companion for mountain photographers dedicated to observing Black Grouse displays, which often require setting up the day before to avoid disturbing the birds. It will also delight stag rut enthusiasts and any travelling photographer keen to have a tent for sleeping and a hide in their backpack. 

 Smart Layout and Versatility 

 The tent comprises a large inner tent fully equipped with a mosquito net and a groundsheet, offering a comfortable space for one person and their gear. A wide window at the rear makes it convenient to slide your equipment inside the tent once it's set up. 

 At the front is the hide "chamber", which also serves as the tent's main door. This area is not equipped with a groundsheet, but it features a window with a large integrated sleeve, designed to accommodate all types of telephoto lenses. The upper part of this window opens with a zip to create a small surveillance window for discreet observation. The lower part of the same face includes a window specifically for passing a tripod leg or for taking ground-level shots. The sides of this hide "chamber" are fitted with two large windows that open with a zip, offering the photographer a 180° panoramic view without needing to move, making this hide truly unique.
