Tragopan over-tent for Lagopus B & S
Fit and Purpose
This outer tent is made for the Tragopan LAGOPUS S and B chair hides.
Material and Coating
It is made of waterproof 150D “Oxford” polyester, which combines lightness and robustness. The tent is equipped with an isothermal coating that lowers the temperature by several degrees when the tent is exposed to the sun and retains heat in winter. The isothermal coating also makes the tent lightproof, so that it is completely dark inside and no shadows can be seen through the fabric.

Assembly and Use on the Chair
Attachment
Attaching the tent to the chair is very simple. The tent is pulled over the roof of the chair without any fastenings being required. With the door closed, the four corners of the tent are pegged down with the supplied pegs so that there is enough space on one side of the chair for your feet and possibly a backpack. Then open the door at the front of the tent, sit down on the chair and set up the camera on a tripod in front of you. Then close the door and extend the telephoto lens through the shooting window. On each side of the front and back of the tent there are 6 tension cords that can be tightened so that the tent does not flap in the wind. This ensures that the tent is held perfectly together and has a less geometric shape.
It has a single door that can be opened and closed from the inside and outside with a thick and quiet zipper.
Window and Door Concept
The front of the tent is also the door and has the following layout:
- a rectangular, modular main shooting opening to which a lightproof cover, a mesh cover (optionally available) or a mesh flap with a central slit can be attached
- The flap that covers the main shooting window has a small observation opening at head height that can be opened and closed with a cord fitted with a tensioner. The flap opens and closes from the inside via a cord system with a tensioner.
- Above the window there is a large observation strip with a flap that can be opened and closed from the inside with a cord system. The observation strip is fitted with a semi-transparent mesh that can be fully opened. This window provides the opportunity to observe what is happening in front of the hide.
- On both sides of the tent there are windows equipped with a flap that can be opened and closed from the inside with a cord system. These windows are fitted with a semi-transparent mesh that has a slit in the middle through which a telephoto lens can pass. This mesh can be fully opened.
