The AK-100 attaches to the Wimberley Sidekick (produced BEFORE May 2018), providing a dovetail width that conforms to the limited clamping range of lever-style clamps. (Traditional twist-knob clamps will work with the AK-100 as well.)
The AK-100 also provides a stop-screw to insure that the Sidekick cannot accidentally slide out of your ball heads quick-release clamp.
The Wimberley AK-100 Sidekick Adapter makes it possible for the Sidekick to be attached to a Really Right Stuff (RRS) head with the lever-style quick release mechanism. The adapter is necessary for these heads since the lever-style system is of a slightly different size than the standard -type fitting used for the Sidekick mount. Traditional twist-knob clamps will work with the AK-100 as well.
