Macro accessories from Wimberley, the Plamp family

Anyone who has done some macro photography will know this! The subject needs better lighting, there's a bit of wind, and the subject needs support, or a diffuser or reflector needs to be positioned.

Now, you only have two hands, and they're needed just to operate the camera, lens, and tripod.

So what do you do? You need support.

Wimberley has been offering a great and practical solution for years. To do this, you simply combine a strong clamp and a delicate clamp, and a flexible arm to connect the two to create the Wimberley Plamp® PP-200 plant clamp.

The flexible arm is cleverly constructed from many links that can be separated at any point and extended as desired. Components from Loc-Line are used here.

There's also a combination of a flex arm, ground peg, and plant clamp: the Wimberley Ground Plamp® II PP-400

This one dispenses with the strong clamp for attaching to branches, etc. The flex arm with the plant clamp is attached directly to the end of the ground peg.

If two things need to be secured at once, such as a reflector or a diffuser, this combination is the right choice.

(...made possible by a Y-piece and two ends with plant clamps)

Need to hold a heavy object?

It's easy with the Grabber S

One clamp attaches to the tripod leg, and the other clamp holds whatever needs to be held.

....the longer version for this purpose is the Kombi Grabber L

(The plant clamp is included and allows for reconversion to the PP-200 if necessary)

And all this in the PP-400 Ground Grabber version with ground nails.

Because many other combinations and lengths can be freely created, this DIY kit is a great option for self-assembly.

The assembly pliers for connecting the 1/2" Loc-Line modules are also included.
