Leofoto GC-282C crank center column for precise height adjustment
The Leofoto GC-282C crank center column is a removable geared column that you mount directly onto the tripod plate of a tripod with a 3/8 inch thread. This very gear construction makes the difference when real precision is required. A normal center column can sometimes be difficult to move delicately with a heavy camera mounted on the ball head: it slips a bit, it jams briefly – you know the situation. With the GC-282C you adjust the height in a controlled way using the crank, step by step, without any rush.
The additional fixed length of the center column is 215 mm. Using the crank, you can then extend the working height up to a maximum of 325 mm. That may sound like just numbers, yes, but in practice it means you can frame your image cleanly without having to readjust the tripod legs right away.
Mounting and connections: 3/8 inch at the bottom, 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch at the top
At the bottom there is a 3/8 inch UNC thread, so the Leofoto GC-282C fits many common tripods that offer a corresponding mount on the tripod plate. At the top you get two options, a 1/4 inch UNC and a 3/8 inch UNC threaded stud. This lets you stay flexible depending on the head or accessory, without having to experiment with adapters first. Practical, and to be honest it often saves time, especially outdoors.
