Leofoto LM-405C Summit carbon tripod

Leofoto LM-405C Summit carbon tripod, when stability really counts

You're looking for a three-legged tripod that doesn’t only perform well when there’s no wind. The Leofoto LM-405C Summit carbon tripod is exactly that kind of workhorse, just without unnecessary drama: 10-layer wrapped carbon, a maximum load capacity of 30 kg, and leg tubes with generous diameters of 40, 36, 32, 28 and 25 mm. In practice, that simply feels stable, even with a large telephoto lens or a heavy setup.

At 2.45 kg it remains pleasantly portable. And yes, it’s robust, but not bulky.

Working heights from 10 cm to 1.65 m, without compromises

Sometimes you want to go high, sometimes all the way down. The LM-405C covers both: minimum working height 10.0 cm for low-angle work and macro photography, maximum working height 1.65 m for landscape, architecture or studio photography. The transport length is 55 cm, i.e. 530 mm, so it still fits nicely in your luggage without you having to play Tetris.

A center column can be retrofitted as an option if you later find you need a bit more flexibility. The same applies to the leveling base, which can also be retrofitted as an option.

5 segments per leg and leg angles of 23, 55 and 85 degrees

Each leg consists of 5 segments. This gives you a clean balance of packed size and rigidity. On top of that, you get three leg angle settings at 23, 55 and 85 degrees. For narrow footprints, for a wide stance in rough terrain, or for an ultra-low perspective. Changing the angles is quick, without a lot of fiddling around.

100 mm bowl mount and bubble level for precise leveling

The tripod uses a 100 mm bowl mount. Especially if you often work with video fluid heads, heavy heads or generally large setups, this is a very comfortable base. For leveling, there is a bubble level – just a single one, but exactly the one you need in that moment.

Recommended for landscape, telephoto, macro, architecture and studio

We particularly recommend the Leofoto LM-405C for landscape photography, telephoto work, low-angle shooting, macro photography, architectural photography and studio photography. This is not a marketing checklist; it simply results from the combination of load capacity, leg stiffness and the wide height range.
