Leofoto LPC-R6II L-bracket for Canon EOS R5, R6 & R6 II

Leofoto LPC-R6II L-bracket for Canon EOS R5, R6 and R6 Mark II

You usually only notice it once you’ve had it mounted and then have to take it off again: a good L-bracket almost feels like a fixed part of the camera. The Leofoto LPC-R6II falls exactly into this category, tailor-made for the mirrorless Canon models EOS R5, EOS R6 and EOS R6 Mark II. Not a universal compromise, but a precisely fitting camera bracket that hugs the body cleanly and simply works in everyday use.

Precision fit for Canon EOS R5, R6 & R6 II

The LPC-R6II is not universal, but designed with a form-fit for the Canon EOS R5, R6 and R6 Mark II. In practice, this means: it sits snugly on the body, doesn’t wobble, and doesn’t slip even if you sometimes position the camera a bit more roughly on the tripod. The integrated pin serves as additional twist protection and reliably prevents the plate from slowly rotating during landscape-orientation shots. This keeps your alignment stable, even in longer sessions.

Modular L-bracket with removable L-component

Things get interesting when it comes to the design: the Leofoto LPC-R6II is modular. The side L-component can be removed if necessary, allowing you to use the bracket as a simple camera plate. So if you ever want to work “flat”, for example on a gimbal or in a tight bag, you simply unscrew the side part and have a slim base plate. As soon as you want to switch between portrait and landscape orientation again, you reattach the L-component and are ready to go.

Laterally extendable L-component for more flexibility

The side component is not only removable, but also extendable to the side. Using guide grooves, you can finely adjust the camera along the vertical and horizontal axis. This lets you position the body exactly over your tripod’s center of gravity, which significantly improves stability, especially with heavier lenses. At the same time, side access to ports and cables is maintained, which is simply easier on your nerves in everyday use with tethering, microphone or HDMI.

ARCA-compatible base for flexible tripod work

The camera plate of the LPC-R6II is ARCA compatible and thus integrates seamlessly into common 38 mm quick-release systems. According to the manufacturer, the clamping profile fits, among others, Wimberley clamps, Really Right Stuff screw and lever clamps, Kirk clamps, as well as other Arca-style compatible quick-release clamps. You can therefore easily integrate the L-bracket into existing tripod heads without constantly having to carry adapters or special plates with you.

Fast switching between portrait and landscape orientation

A key advantage of an L-bracket is the clean switch between portrait and landscape orientation without having to completely readjust the tripod height or framing. Since the LPC-R6II locks securely on both the horizontal and vertical axis, your subject remains stable in the frame. You simply move the camera into the other clamp and the perspective remains largely the same. This is particularly practical for portraits, architecture or product photography, where you don’t want to start from scratch every time.

Sturdy construction made from 6061-T6 aluminum

The L-bracket is made from 6061-T6 aluminum, a robust material proven in aerospace applications. It offers a very good weight-to-strength ratio, so the bracket is solid without being unnecessarily heavy. The black anodized finish provides a durable, unobtrusive look and protects the metal from scratches and corrosion. With a width of about 14.9 cm (not extended) and a height of around 8.8 cm, the LPC-R6II fits harmoniously to the camera body without appearing bulky.

Thought-out details: threads, strap eyelet and tool holder

On the underside you’ll find two tripod threads: one 3/8" UNC and one 1/4" UNC. This allows you to attach additional accessories, a quick-release base or special tripod adapters without having to remove the L-bracket all the time. An integrated strap eyelet allows you to attach a camera strap directly to the L-bracket, which keeps the load away from the camera mount. Particularly convenient in everyday use is the magnetic holder for the included hex key. This way, the tool is always within reach when you want to adjust or remove the L-component and doesn’t disappear somewhere in your bag.

Laser-engraved sensor center mark for precise alignment

On top of the L-bracket there is a laser-engraved sensor center mark. This marking helps you determine the camera’s optical axis precisely and is almost indispensable for panoramic photography. It allows you to align your system much more accurately over the pivot point, resulting in clean transitions and less offset between individual images. Especially if you work with panoramic heads more often, you’ll quickly come to appreciate this small detail.

Practical battery access without disassembly

On the underside of the L-bracket there is a lever that allows you to remove the battery of your Canon EOS R5, R6 or R6 Mark II without taking off the bracket. This may sound like a minor detail, but in use it noticeably saves time and prevents you from having to realign the camera on the tripod over and over. Battery empty, operate the lever, change the battery, continue shooting without much fiddling.

Flexible use: from studio tripod to outdoor setup

Thanks to the combination of an ARCA-compatible base, modular L-component and additional threaded holes, the LPC-R6II covers a wide range of application scenarios. In the studio you benefit from the quick format change and precise positioning over the tripod’s center of gravity. Out on the road, the stable, form-fitting connection to the camera ensures that nothing rattles or twists. And if you ever only need a flat base plate, you simply continue using the L-bracket without the side arm.

Scope of delivery and summary

The scope of delivery includes, in addition to the Leofoto LPC-R6II L-bracket, a matching hex key that can be stored directly on the bracket thanks to the magnetic holder. All in all, you get a precisely fitting, stable and thoughtfully designed solution for your Canon EOS R5, R6 or R6 Mark II that makes working on a tripod noticeably more pleasant and saves you a lot of readjustment and improvisation in your daily photography practice.
