Leofoto PCL-60 panoramic quick release clamp with quick release plate

Leofoto PCL-60 panorama quick-release clamp with quick-release plate, precise control in a compact format

Sometimes a small detail decides whether a panorama looks clean or somehow crooked. This is exactly where the Leofoto PCL-60 panorama quick-release clamp with quick-release plate comes in: compact, robust, and surprisingly finely adjustable. The round base with a diameter of 6.0 cm blends discreetly into your setup, while you comfortably clamp your camera or L-bracket on top and pan in a controlled way.

Made from 6061-T6 aluminum and complemented by stainless steel components, the PCL-60 offers a stable, durable construction that proves itself in tough everyday photography. Weighing only 125 g, it remains pleasantly light without feeling wobbly. The surface is black anodized, which not only looks good but also protects the clamp against abrasion and corrosion.

Arca-style compatible, flexible on the go with 38 mm dovetail

According to the manufacturer, the clamp accepts 38 mm dovetail plates designed to be Arca-style compatible, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into many existing systems. You can continue using your existing ARCA-compatible quick-release plates, L-brackets, or rails without having to buy everything new. That saves nerves, money, and space in your bag.

In addition to Arca-style compatible plates, the PCL-60 also accepts Wimberley dovetail and Kirk dovetail. This broad compatibility makes the panorama quick-release clamp a very versatile component for studio work, outdoor shoots, or travel. If you like to build your setup in a modular way, you’ll find a solid base here.

Panorama quick-release clamp with lever lock, fast operation without fiddling

The Leofoto PCL-60 is designed as a panorama quick-release clamp with a practical lever lock. Clamping is done via a separate lever that can be operated safely with one hand. You release, realign, and clamp again without lengthy turning of a screw. Especially when it’s windy outside or you’re working with gloves, this is a real advantage.

The jaw length of 4.6 cm ensures a stable support for the quick-release plate so that your camera sits solidly and securely. The height of the clamp is 2.6 cm, the width 9.0 cm. This keeps the whole unit pleasantly compact without sacrificing stability. For precise panoramic panning, this combination of low profile and solid clamping surface is very helpful.

Mounting on tripod heads, 3/8" and 1/4" UNC flexibly usable

The round Leofoto PCL-60 quick-release clamp can be mounted quickly on tripod heads or tripods with a 3/8" or 1/4" UNC connection. For screwing it on, you have a 3/8" UNC thread available; you can also use the included thread adapter from 3/8" UNC to 1/4" UNC to use tripods with a smaller connection without any problems. This way, the panorama quick-release clamp fits most common tripod heads.

In addition, the PCL-60 can also be screwed from above, using a 1/4" UNC countersunk screw or an M6 countersunk screw. This is particularly interesting if you want to mount the clamp permanently on a special rail, a slider, or a custom plate. These various mounting holes give you plenty of leeway to build your setup in the way that really makes sense for your work.

Adjustable clamping width, optimally adapting the quick-release plate

A practical detail that is often overlooked: the clamping width is adjustable. Using the supplied hex key, you can finely adjust the width when the clamp is closed. That may not sound spectacular, but it is extremely helpful if you use plates or rails from different manufacturers that have slightly different tolerances.

This way you ensure that Arca-style compatible plates, Wimberley dovetail, or Kirk dovetail really sit without play but not excessively tight. Once properly adjusted, everything runs very smoothly, and you no longer need to readjust in everyday use. Simply clamp, close the lever, done.

Integrated bubble level and center mark, clean alignment at a glance

For precise alignment, the PCL-60 has an integrated bubble level. This single bubble level helps you level the clamp quickly before you start panning. Especially in architecture, landscape, or product photography, a clean horizon line is crucial, and here you save yourself unnecessary corrections in post-processing.

In addition, the clamp features a center mark in the form of a laser-engraved scale. These markings make it easier for you to position and align the camera accurately and reproducibly. When you shoot series of panoramic images or use recurring setups, you can use these markings as a reference and quickly reproduce your settings.

Robust materials, 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel for long service life

The combination of 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel gives the Leofoto PCL-60 high rigidity and load capacity. 6061-T6 aluminum is a proven material in professional photo and video applications because it offers a very good weight-to-strength ratio. Stainless steel parts are used where additional strength and wear resistance are required.

The black anodized surface provides additional protection for the material and ensures a discreet, low-reflection appearance. This is particularly pleasant when you are working with light shapers in the studio or want to avoid unnecessary reflections in nature. The PCL-60 therefore looks high-quality but not flashy, more like a tool that simply does its job unobtrusively.

Practical dimensions, compact and travel-friendly

With a length of 7.5 cm, a width of 9.0 cm, and a base diameter of 6.0 cm, the panorama quick-release clamp fits easily into most camera bags. It is large enough to work stably even with larger cameras, yet compact enough not to be unnecessarily bulky. The weight of 125 g is barely noticeable in a backpack, which is especially pleasant on longer tours.

The relatively low height of 2.6 cm helps to keep the camera’s center of gravity as close as possible to the tripod head. This has a positive effect on stability, especially with telephoto lenses or in windy conditions. In practice, this means: fewer vibrations, fewer blurred shots, more usable images.

Designed for precise panoramas and repeatable setups

The Leofoto PCL-60 panorama quick-release clamp with quick-release plate is particularly interesting if you value reproducible results. Thanks to the combination of lever lock, adjustable clamping width, integrated bubble level, and laser-engraved scale, you can position your camera very precisely and execute pans in a controlled manner.

Whether you want to capture wide landscapes, document interiors, or photograph products from multiple angles, the PCL-60 provides a stable, finely controllable base. It is deliberately designed in a no-nonsense way, without unnecessary gimmicks, and focuses on what really counts in everyday use: reliable clamping, precise alignment, and operation that is as smooth as possible.
