Leofoto SK-324C carbon tripod with integrated ball head (Arca & Picatinny)

Leofoto SK-324C carbon tripod with integrated ball head for demanding use

If you are looking for a tripod that doesn’t just sound good on paper but really delivers out in the field, at the shooting range or in the mountains, then the Leofoto SK-324C carbon tripod with integrated ball head is such a candidate. Robust, surprisingly light for its size and clearly geared towards practical use. No gimmicks that only look good in the brochure, but a working tool that simply works.

With a maximum load capacity of 15 kg, the tripod carries heavy telephoto lenses, spotting scopes or precisely set up weapon platforms without complaint. The weight is only 1.73 kg, which is truly remarkable for a carbon tripod of this stability class. You can easily carry it in your backpack or on your gear all day long without it slowing you down much.

Arca-style compatible for photography and shooting sports

The integrated clamp is Arca-style compatible and accepts a 38 mm dovetail. This means you are using the modern accessory standard and can use a wide range of ARCA plates, clamps and rails. Weapons with a Picatinny rail on the fore-end can be mounted just as easily as cameras or optics with a suitable Arca-style adapter plate. This combined interface makes the SK-324C particularly flexible if you switch between hunting and photography or do both in parallel.

Since the system is ARCA compatible, you will find suitable accessories in the Arca-style accessories section if you want to expand your equipment later. The quick-release clamp is designed so that you can securely fix your gear and release it just as quickly again without having to fiddle around.

Carbon tripod with a large height range from ground level up to 1.54 m

The working range of the Leofoto SK-324C is surprisingly wide: the minimum setup height is only 11.5 cm. This allows you to work really close to the ground, for example for macros, wildlife observation from cover or very low perspectives in landscape photography. At the same time, the tripod can be extended to a maximum height of 1.54 m. This gives you a comfortable working height, even if you are tall or working standing up with a heavy telephoto lens.

This range is achieved by four leg sections per leg with diameters of 32, 28, 25 and 22 mm. Despite the four sections, the folded length remains pleasantly short at 58 cm, so the tripod fits well in or on a backpack. The twist-lock leg clamps allow you to adjust the height very quickly. A short twist is enough and the sections can be extended or retracted quickly, which is worth its weight in gold especially in changing terrain or with fleeting subjects.

Precise leg angle settings for uneven terrain

The tripod legs can be locked individually in three leg angle settings: 23°, 55° and 85°. This allows you to adapt the tripod very well to uneven terrain, such as scree, forest floor or a slope. For particularly low positions you use the steep angles to create an extremely stable, wide base. For normal working heights you choose the flatter angle.

The combination of carbon legs, steel and aluminum components ensures a very solid construction that works reliably in both cold and heat. The tripod is designed for a temperature range from -30 to +60 °C. This means you can use it in winter frost just as well as in the blazing summer sun without the function of the twist locks or the ball head suffering.

Integrated ball head with generous panning range

The integrated ball head is the heart of the Leofoto SK-324C. It offers a generous panning range in all directions and enables smooth movements, for example when tracking passing game or following a subject in the viewfinder. The ball is dimensioned so that it provides sufficient stability even with large and fast calibers and does not give way.

An integrated bubble level helps you to level the weapon or camera horizontally. Especially in telephoto work or for precise shots, accurate alignment is crucial to achieve repeatable results. The ball head is permanently connected to the tripod, so you get a compact, ready-to-use system without having to combine head and legs first.

Picatinny / Weaver and Arca-style compatible in one clamp

The clamp of the SK-324C accepts both Picatinny / Weaver and, according to the manufacturer, Arca-style compatible 38 mm dovetail. This dual standard is a real advantage if you work with different systems or are gradually converting your equipment. You can mount weapons with a Picatinny rail on the fore-end directly and switch just as quickly to a camera with ARCA plate, without adapter overkill or tool changes.

This flexibility is particularly pleasant for hunting and shooting sports. You can use the tripod during the day for landscape or architectural photography and in the evening in the hunting grounds for stand hunting or controlled shooting at the range. One system, multiple applications, less gear.

Recommended for panoramic, landscape and telephoto photography

The Leofoto SK-324C is not only a SOAR tripod for shooters, but also a fully-fledged tool for demanding photographers. It is excellently suited for panoramic photography, landscape photography and telephoto work. The high stability and the precisely adjustable leg angles ensure that long exposure times, long focal lengths and complex panoramas can be executed cleanly.

The tripod is also very well equipped for work close to the ground, for example for macros or creative perspectives, thanks to its minimum setup height of 11.5 cm. In architectural photography you benefit from precise alignment via the bubble level and the stable base in order to minimize converging verticals and camera shake. In short, you can use the SK-324C very flexibly without having to commit to a single area.

Stable construction made of carbon, aluminum and steel

For the material mix, Leofoto uses carbon for the tripod legs and steel and aluminum for the load-bearing components. This results in a successful combination of low weight and high robustness. The carbon tubes dampen vibrations very effectively, which is a real plus for telephoto work and shooting with larger calibers.

The twist locks of the leg sections work reliably and do not give way even with frequent setup and takedown. The 3/8" UNC internal thread on the feet allows you to switch between the supplied rubber feet and the stainless steel spikes (3). The spikes provide significantly better grip on soft ground, forest floor or snow, while the rubber feet are the first choice on smooth floors or indoors.

Well-thought-out accessories: carrying bag, tools and spikes

The scope of delivery of the Leofoto SK-324C includes a padded carrying bag that allows you to transport the tripod safely. The bag protects the carbon tripod from impacts and scratches during transport in the car, in a backpack or in checked luggage on flights. An Allen key and a multi-tool are also included, so you can make small adjustments or readjustments directly on site.

The three supplied stainless steel spikes can be quickly swapped for the rubber feet if required. This allows you to adapt the tripod very well to the ground without having to buy additional accessories. For everyday use, the set is therefore surprisingly complete straight out of the box.

SOAR tripod for hunting and shooting sports

The SK series from Leofoto was developed specifically for shooters. The SK-324C is designed as a SOAR tripod and is aimed at hunters and sport shooters who are looking for a light but very stable tripod for precise shots and a secure weapon rest. The combined interface for Picatinny / Weaver and Arca-style compatible 38 mm dovetail is the greatest advantage of this series.

Not only photographers and nature observers appreciate light and stable carbon tripods. In hunting and shooting sports it has long been known that a good carbon tripod can significantly support hit performance and repeatability. Especially at long distances or when observing game, a steady, reproducible rest is a real game changer.

Whether you are honing your precision at the shooting range or need a secure rest in the field for that decisive shot, the Leofoto SK-324C offers you a solid, reliable base. And if you switch back to the camera in between, you don’t have to change systems; you simply continue using the same platform.
