If you often have to carry your tripod a bit further, you don’t want to keep clamping it to a leg or the shoulder plate. The Leofoto LM tripod carrying strap is made exactly for days like that: a practical, comfortable strap made of tear-resistant nylon webbing, 31 mm wide and 1,400 mm long. It is designed for tripods with a 3/8" UNC thread and in this version comes with a 40 mm tripod clamp, matching the size of the thickest leg segment.
Material and dimensions, just as you feel them in your hand
The strap is made of robust nylon that doesn’t give way easily when the tripod is a bit heavier or you carry it for longer. With a width of 31 mm it rests noticeably stable on your shoulder without feeling bulky. The length of 1,400 mm gives you enough leeway to adapt the carrying position to your height and your style, sometimes tighter, sometimes looser. Not complicated, just sensible.
QD 1 quick releases at both ends, dock and go
There is a QD 1 quick release at each end of the strap. This is practical because you don’t have to thread the strap through awkwardly or reattach it every time. You dock it on, and when you want to remove it again, it’s just as quick. Press the buttons marked “Push” on the QD 1 and the strap detaches from the tripod. Sounds trivial, but in everyday use it’s exactly the difference between relaxed and annoying.
Attachment to the tripod leg with QDC 40 mm tripod clamp
One end of the strap works with a QD 1 quick release in combination with a QDC tripod clamp. In this version it is the 40 mm clamp, which is attached to one of the leg segments. It is important that the size matches the strongest part of your tripod leg, i.e. the thickest leg segment. Then the clamp sits cleanly without slipping, and you have a good feeling when carrying because it doesn’t wobble.
3/8" UNC connection via QDM 2 special screw on the tripod shoulder
At the other end of the strap there is also a QD 1 quick release, here together with the QDM 2 special screw with 3/8" thread. You screw this into the 3/8" UNC thread located on the side below the tripod plate in the tripod shoulder. Exactly where it is provided on many tripods. This creates a second, stable mounting point so the strap is not hanging from just one point.

The Leofoto LM quick-release carrying strap is intended for tripods with a 3/8" UNC thread in the tripod shoulder and is offered in various sizes. The decisive factor is always the largest leg diameter of your tripod. You can choose between 32 mm, 36 mm and 40 mm. For this product the following applies: 40 mm tripod clamp. Please measure the diameter of the strongest leg segment once, quickly with caliper or ruler, so that it really fits in the end.
