For you this means: you can easily use Arca-style compatible plates and rails, including Really Right Stuff dovetail, Wimberley dovetail and Kirk dovetail. If you already have an existing ARCA setup, the B2-LR-II integrates seamlessly without you having to completely rebuild your system.

With a jaw length of 6.0 cm and an overall length of 7.6 cm, the quick-release clamp offers enough contact area for a secure hold while still remaining pleasantly slim. The width of 8.6 cm provides a stable base without making your tripod setup unnecessarily bulky.

Lever clamp for top-loading and speed

The heart of the design is the lever clamp. Instead of laboriously turning a screw clamp, you open the clamp with a single lever movement from fully closed to fully open. This so-called top-loading makes a huge difference in everyday use: you simply insert the plate from above instead of sliding it in from the side. Especially when things have to move quickly, when the light is changing or the subject won’t wait, you save yourself those typical, annoying seconds.

The lever offers three defined positions: fully closed, half open and fully open. In the half-open position you can move the plate within the clamp and adjust it precisely without it being able to fall out. This is surprisingly practical for fine adjustments, for example in architectural or product photography.

Another advantage: the lever clamp has a very low profile. The lever does not protrude above or below the height of the clamp. So if you use setups with little vertical clearance, such as macro work with a focusing rail or compact travel tripods, the B2-LR-II fits perfectly into the system. In the closed position the lever lies close to the clamp, reducing the risk of a strap, sleeve or branch getting caught.

R-Mount anti-twist protection and versatile mounting

The B2-LR-II is designed for the R-Mount and thus offers effective anti-twist protection. Especially with heavy telephoto lenses or longer rails, you don’t want the clamp to rotate unnoticed. The R-Mount stop ensures defined, repeatable positioning on compatible ball heads.

You are surprisingly flexible when it comes to mounting. You can attach the quick-release clamp in several ways:

• using the 3/8" UNC threaded hole in the center on heads with 3/8"-16 mounting studs
• by bolting through from above with a 1/4" UNC countersunk screw or M6 countersunk screw in combination with an optional CL adapter
• direct mounting with a 1/4" UNC or M6 countersunk screw on the R-Mount of a ball head

This allows you to use the B2-LR-II on virtually all common tripod heads and platforms with 3/8"-16 threaded studs, on RRS ball heads with R-Mount, as well as on heads with 1/4"-20 threaded holes or metric M6 threads. If you use older Really Right Stuff ball heads without R-Mount, a separately available CL adapter is required for mounting.

Precise threads and a well-designed underside

On the underside you will find a continuous 3/8" UNC photo thread as well as two additional 1/4" UNC photo threads. This combination allows you to adapt the quick-release clamp very specifically to different tripod heads, leveling bases or special mounts. The continuous threaded hole further expands the possibilities if you want to implement your own adapter solutions or custom setups.

Made in the USA, robust materials, clean workmanship

The B2-LR-II is made from aluminum and stainless steel and is black anodized. The aluminum ensures a low weight of only 150 g, while stainless steel at critical points, especially on the lever, is responsible for high wear resistance. The lever made of stainless steel is practically impossible to wear out and remains reliable even after many years of intensive use.

The black anodized surface is not only visually discreet, but also protects the material from corrosion and abrasion. In practice this means: you can use the clamp in the studio, outside in the rain or in dusty conditions without having to worry much about durability.

Integrated bubble level and laser-engraved scale

There is a bubble level embedded in the top of the clamp, which allows you to quickly bring your setup roughly into level. This is a small but very helpful aid, especially when your tripod is standing on uneven ground. For finer adjustments you will find a neatly executed center mark with laser engraving and scale.
