Really Right Stuff BGFX100II -LS L-bracket for FUJIFILM GFX 100 II

Really Right Stuff BGFX100II-LS L-bracket for FUJIFILM GFX 100 II

Sometimes you only realize while working how much of a difference a perfectly fitting L-bracket makes. The Really Right Stuff BGFX100II-LS L-bracket is built exactly for that purpose: for your FUJIFILM GFX 100 II when you use it seriously in the studio, on location, or anywhere in between and don’t want to deal with wobbly compromises.

This L-bracket hugs the camera body closely with its lower flanges. This virtually eliminates any twisting on the tripod and makes the already good ergonomics of the GFX 100 II even better. The contour follows the camera very precisely, so when you grab it you don’t feel like you’re holding some bulky foreign object, but rather a natural extension of the body grip.

Specifically designed for this camera

The BGFX100II-LS is not universal, but deliberately specifically designed for this camera, i.e. the FUJIFILM GFX 100 II. This means: no makeshift solutions, no “it kind of fits”, but a shape that precisely follows the lines and cutouts of your GFX 100 II.

The vertical component is designed so that you retain full access to all side ports even with the L-bracket mounted. USB, HDMI, remote, headphones, microphone – everything remains accessible without you constantly having to unscrew or remount anything. At the same time, the connection between the base plate and the vertical part is constructed so that the battery compartment remains unobstructed. You can change the battery without removing the L-bracket. That may sound trivial, but in everyday use it saves you a surprising amount of fiddling.

Because the BGFX100II-LS has a two-piece design, the L-component can be shifted sideways away from the left side of the camera. This is especially practical when you are working with cables and shooting in portrait orientation. This way your lens remains neatly centered over the optical axis while the cables have enough space and are not pinched.

Arca-style compatible for flexible quick-release setups

The L-bracket is fully Arca-style compatible and therefore ideal if you work with high-quality quick-release clamps. According to the manufacturer, the clamp profile fits a whole range of common systems: ProMediaGear clamps, Wimberley clamps, Really Right Stuff screw clamps, Really Right Stuff lever clamps, Kirk clamps, as well as other Arca-style compatible 38 mm quick-release clamps.

This lets you keep your workflow lean: put the camera on, tighten, done. No adapter chaos, no improvisation. If you are already working with ARCA-compatible gear, the BGFX100II-LS integrates seamlessly into your existing setup and makes switching between portrait and landscape orientation a matter of seconds.

With QD strap socket for fast carrying options

The L-bracket features a built-in QD strap socket and is therefore fully QD compatible. This means you can use modern quick-detach strap systems that can be released and reattached with a single click. Especially when you frequently switch between tripod use and handheld shooting, this is a very pleasant solution.

To use this QD strap socket, you need a suitable strap with QD strap anchors. You can find such straps, for example, here: straps with QD strap anchors. Once you’ve worked with them, you usually won’t want to go back to classic systems with fiddly screw attachments.

Made in the USA from 6061-T6 aluminum

The BGFX100II-LS is made in the USA and CNC-milled from solid blocks of 6061-T6 aluminum. In the photo industry, this material is something like the gold standard for high-quality mounts: lightweight, very strong, and permanently dimensionally stable. Every edge and every curve is finished so that it feels ergonomic while providing maximum strength.

After milling, the L-bracket receives a smooth, matte surface and is then black Type II anodized. This anodized layer protects the aluminum from corrosion and gives the L-bracket a subtle, professional look that matches the GFX 100 II well. The fine laser engravings, including the sensor center mark, round things off both functionally and visually.

Thoughtful details for daily use

One detail that is surprisingly important in everyday use: the mounting screw. The BGFX100II-LS uses a custom-made, captive 1/4"-20 screw that engages directly into your camera’s tripod socket. So you don’t have to worry about the screw disappearing somewhere in the grass or in the studio.

Both the main screw on the base and the optional strap lug anchor can be tightened with the same hex key. And this hex key is stored directly in the L-plate itself. So you always have your tool with you without having to think about it separately. It’s one of those little things you only notice when you suddenly don’t have it.

In addition, you have a 1/4"-20 accessory mounting socket at your disposal. This allows you to attach, for example, small arms, mounts, or other accessories without having to resort to a large rig solution.

Laser-engraved sensor center mark for precise alignment

On the L-bracket you’ll find a laser-engraved sensor center mark. This mark is particularly helpful when you want to align your camera exactly over the axis of rotation, for example in panoramic photography.

Especially with the high resolution of the FUJIFILM GFX 100 II, clean, repeatable alignment is worthwhile to achieve perfect transitions between individual frames. The center line helps you position the sensor in exactly the same way again and again, which can save you a lot of post-processing in practice.

Really Right Stuff R-Lock safety mechanism

The BGFX100II-LS is equipped with the Really Right Stuff R-Lock safety mechanism. This system provides an additional positive lock between the L-bracket and compatible R-Lock clamps and reduces the risk of the camera shifting unintentionally.

Especially with heavy medium format setups, a reliable safety mechanism is reassuring. You can leave the camera on the tripod without constantly having the uneasy feeling that something might come loose. Combined with the precise clamp profiles, this creates a very stable, trustworthy connection.

Full operability of your FUJIFILM GFX 100 II

Despite its robust construction, your camera remains easily accessible in all important areas. The design of the L-bracket is such that you can freely use the camera’s accessory ports. Card slots, doors, buttons – everything remains sensibly reachable without you having to contort your fingers.

As mentioned, access to the battery is possible without removing the plate. This is especially practical during longer shoots when you change batteries more often. You don’t have to loosen the entire mount every time; you can simply swap the battery and keep going.

Stable working in portrait and landscape orientation

The real purpose of an L-bracket becomes apparent when you frequently switch between landscape and portrait orientation. With the BGFX100II-LS, the center of gravity of your GFX 100 II remains close to the tripod axis in both orientations. This provides more stability, less vibration, and overall more pleasant handling, especially with longer or heavier lenses.

Because the L-component is adjustable, you can also work in portrait orientation with cabled setups without blocking the ports. Your lens remains centered on any ARCA-compatible mount. This is particularly interesting in the studio or for tethered shooting when you don’t want to deal with makeshift solutions.
