Material structure and protective effect

This lens protector from Camshield is made of thermoformed EVA foam (4 mm thick) laminated with a cotton blend fabric printed with a camouflage pattern. This material combination is unique – it protects the lens against impacts and is water-repellent. Some segments are made of silicone and are designed so that the switches can still be operated easily.

The CAMSHIELD protection set is shockproof, supported by the absorption capacity of the thick EVA foam from which its main components are made. The water-repellent coating protects the lens from occasional snow, morning dew, or drizzle.

All-round protection and value retention

Particular care has been taken to ensure that no part of the lens remains unprotected, in order to avoid paint abrasion and scratches and thus guarantee that the lens remains in optimal condition for possible resale without loss of value.

Reduced segmentation against dust and moisture

The number of parts that make up this set has been reduced to a minimum in order to limit the risk of dust and water entering the gaps of the lens, especially in the focus ring.

Properties of the non-silicone-based elements

All parts not made of silicone are non-elastic, edged, and water-repellent.

Shape retention thanks to EVA foam

The rigidity of the EVA foam offers a major advantage: it provides a perfect shape on the lens that, unlike neoprene for example, remains dimensionally stable over a longer period of time.

Operability of the lens functions

The silicone parts allow easy access to and control of various adjustment buttons on the lens, such as the focus and stabilization modes or the autofocus range, even when wearing gloves.

Attachment of the lens cap to the lens hood

The lens cap is held in the closed position on the lens hood with a strap and a quick-release fastener, which also helps to keep it in the open position under the lens hood or to serve as a ground support for the lens by means of this attachment.
