With the Pumba ready backpack for super-telephoto lenses you’re practically always on air when you’re out and about. You don’t carry your 400mm f/2.8 or 600mm f/4 in just any backpack, but in a readiness-optimized quiver in backpack format, where camera, super-telephoto and teleconverter are already fully mounted and waiting. No fumbling, no hectic screwing when the eagle suddenly rushes into the frame.

The Pumba is specifically designed so that you can transport your 400mm f/2.8 super-telephoto lens with attached camera, a 2x or 1.4x teleconverter and mounted lens hood in working position. You open the backpack, grab it, and in the next moment you’re ready to shoot. If you prefer working with a 600mm f/4, this also fits into the interior with attached camera, 2x or 1.4x teleconverter and reversed lens hood in transport position.

This makes the Pumba a true ready quiver in backpack format for sports photography, wildlife, nature photography and all situations where fractions of a second decide whether you catch the subject or only photograph the empty branch.

Extremely sturdy body construction for sensitive super-telephoto lenses

Inside there is a dimensionally stable, very robust body that reliably cushions and protects your gear. The outer and inner materials are made of hard-wearing Cordura, which has proven itself for years in outdoor and military use. This keeps the backpack in shape even during rough use in the stadium, in the forest or in the mountains, while your super-telephoto is safely embedded.

The internal dimensions of 55 x 21 x 22 cm (H x W x D) are chosen so that large telephoto lenses including camera and converter are not squeezed in, but also don’t have unnecessary play. Externally, the backpack measures 65 x 25 x 26 cm (H x W x D), which is remarkably compact for a ready backpack for super-telephotos. With a weight of 2.37 kg without strap it remains pleasantly portable for its size, without sacrificing stability.

The inner lining is designed so that your gear slides smoothly when packing and unpacking. Even if you use a protective cover on the lens or a somewhat bulky tripod foot, handling remains pleasant. Nothing snags, nothing jams, and you don’t have to re‑puzzle everything every time to get it back inside.

Molle system integrated, flexible for accessories, tripod and outer pouches

All around the Pumba, a MOLLE system is integrated, making the backpack Molle-ready. This means you can easily attach additional outer pouches for camera bodies, more lenses, filters, macro accessories or other small items. Attaching a tripod can also be done very flexibly, without having to commit to a single position.

Especially when you go hiking or cover longer distances, this flexibility is worth its weight in gold. Today you might only need the big telephoto and a second camera, tomorrow you add another pouch for memory cards, radio remote release and rain cover. The modular system turns the ready backpack into an adaptable transport solution for a wide variety of uses.

The Pumba is designed as a ready backpack without hip belt so that you don’t first have to laboriously undo straps when putting it down and opening it. You set the backpack down, open it, grab your setup, and in the next moment you can release the shutter. If you want to start shooting immediately outdoors without first having to assemble camera, teleconverter and lens hood, the Pumba plays to its strengths. Especially in wildlife and sports photography, where subjects don’t repeat themselves, every second counts. You miss fewer moments because your gear isn’t buried somewhere deep in the backpack, but is ready for action right in front of you.

The Pumba ready backpack is manufactured Made in Germany. Around 90% of the raw materials used come from Germany and the Netherlands, which not only stands for quality, but also results in a comparatively small ecological footprint. Short delivery routes, traceable origin of the materials and production that focuses on durability instead of a throwaway mentality.

The scope of delivery also includes a MIL-TEC backpack cover as rain and dust protection for backpacks up to 80 liters (approx. 60 x 80 cm). This keeps your gear well protected even in changeable weather, on dusty tracks or in light drizzle, without you having to organize an additional cover.

The proven backpack carrying system ensures that you can comfortably carry your gear even over longer distances. Especially when hiking with a heavy super-telephoto, a well-balanced carrying system really makes a difference. Shoulder straps, back padding and the overall balanced shape help distribute the weight sensibly.

Even without a hip belt, the backpack remains easy to control when you move through rough terrain, step over roots or quickly change position at the sidelines.
