MR JAN GEAR photo backpack RISE XL – Multicam with Molle system

MR JAN GEAR camera backpack RISE XL, Multicam with MOLLE system for photography, hiking and everyday use

With the MR JAN GEAR RISE XL camera backpack in Multicam you get a backpack that doesn’t have to choose: camera bag, hiking backpack, carry-on, office companion – it can be all of them at the same time without making a big deal out of it. And that’s exactly what makes it so interesting.

Robust X50 Multicam, built for real missions

The RISE XL is made from X50 Multicam material consisting of 100% Cordura. This fabric is highly abrasion-resistant and tear-resistant – definitely more “outdoor-ready” than “closet ornament”. Even if you regularly scramble over rocks, maneuver through narrow train compartments or simply haul it around with you every day, the material takes it all in stride.

The Multicam look ensures that the backpack appears not only functional but also visually quite serious. No flashy design, no frills – just a discreet tactical look that fits in just as well in the city as it does in the forest.

MOLLE-ready, modular expansion to suit your style

The RISE XL is fully MOLLE-ready. Using the integrated MOLLE system, you can flexibly attach and remove various MOLLE pouches and accessories. This lets you configure your backpack exactly the way you need it for your hike, your photo job or your weekend trip.

Minimalist today with just a camera and one lens, tomorrow with additional pouches for filters, power bank, first-aid kit or snacks – the system simply grows with your ideas. This is extremely practical, especially on longer hikes, because you can place gear on the outside for easy access without digging around in the main compartment.

Rear opening, secure and fast access

The RISE XL opens from the back. That means you lay the backpack down with the harness side facing up, open it and get direct access to your camera gear or travel essentials. Without the back panel ending up in the dirt. Without someone in a crowded train “testing” the zipper unnoticed.

Especially when you’re carrying expensive camera equipment, this rear access is a real plus: more security, less stress, faster access. And yes, that makes a noticeable difference in everyday use.

Plenty of space for camera gear, large lens and more

The RISE XL is dimensioned so that your camera gear fits in comfortably, including a large lens. So not just a small mirrorless camera, but also full-size DSLR or mirrorless setups with telephoto lens, additional lenses and accessories.

With the supplied dividers you can structure the interior so that camera, lenses, drone, batteries or personal items are neatly separated from each other. Nothing rattles around loosely, everything has its fixed place. If you like, you can also use the interior in a more “hybrid” way: one part for camera gear, one part for clothing, laptop or provisions.

All-rounder: hiking, office, weekend trip

Although the RISE XL is clearly designed as a camera backpack, it proves to be surprisingly versatile in everyday life. We’d almost say: it’s an everyday and travel backpack that just happens to be extremely photo-capable.

For your commute to the office you can remove part of your camera gear and use the space for laptop, documents and everyday items. For an extended weekend trip you pack clothing, toiletry bag and camera, and still have room for a large lens or a tripod that you attach on the outside. When hiking, it really plays to its strengths: robust material, MOLLE-ready, easily accessible compartments, comfortable back panel and enough volume without looking bulky.

Soft hook-and-loop area for labeling and personalization

On the outside you’ll find a soft hook-and-loop area where you can attach a label or patch for identification. Practical if you use multiple backpacks, work in teams or simply want to quickly see which backpack belongs to which set of gear.

Whether name tag, logo patch or just a small marking for the contents – the hook-and-loop area makes it easy to clearly assign the RISE XL.

Thought-out interior: dividers, straps, hook-and-loop pockets

The scope of delivery includes a set of dividers, two straps, a rain cover and two hook-and-loop pockets. The dividers can be flexibly positioned using hook-and-loop fasteners, allowing you to adapt the interior layout precisely to your gear, from a compact setup to a fully loaded professional kit.

The two straps help you secure larger or elongated items, such as a telephoto lens, a slider or a compact travel tripod inside the pack. The two hook-and-loop pockets are perfect for small items like batteries, memory cards, cables or tools that shouldn’t disappear loosely into the backpack.

Includes rain cover, ready for bad weather

Even though the X50 Multicam material is very durable, there will eventually be a moment when the rain just won’t stop. For exactly these situations, a matching rain cover is included. You simply pull it over the backpack and your gear stays reliably protected from moisture.

Especially on hikes, outdoor shoots or city trips where the weather can change quickly, the rain cover is an inconspicuous but extremely important extra.

Made in Slovakia, solid European manufacturing

Like all backpacks from MR JAN GEAR, the RISE XL is manufactured in Slovakia. You can see it in the details: clean stitching, thoughtful workmanship, robust materials. No over-the-top show, just honest, functional quality.

For storage when you’re not using the backpack, the RISE XL comes with a textile bag. This keeps it protected while it waits in the closet or studio for its next assignment.

Dimensions and weight, compact yet surprisingly spacious

Despite its generous interior, the RISE XL remains pleasantly compact and easy to carry. The external dimensions are 45 × 30 × 18 cm. This puts it in a range that works well for many carry-on situations (always check the current airline regulations, as they tend to change).

Inside, the backpack offers approx. 40–44 × 28 × 17 cm of space. The back panel is 45 cm long and 30 cm wide, the front measures roughly 40 cm in length and also 30 cm in width. The depth is 17–18 cm. These dimensions ensure that you can stow larger lenses and camera bodies sensibly without the backpack feeling unnecessarily bulky.

In terms of weight, the RISE XL is pleasantly modest: empty it weighs about 1.150 kg. Fully loaded with dividers, straps and rain cover, the weight is around 1.6 kg. For such a robust, modular camera backpack, this is a very well-balanced figure that remains comfortable to carry even on longer hikes.

Who the RISE XL is particularly suitable for

If you’re looking for a camera backpack that:

  • is suitable for hiking and outdoor use,
  • can hold a large camera kit including a big lens,
  • is flexibly expandable thanks to the MOLLE system,
  • works as an office or travel backpack in everyday life,
  • and remains robust, discreet and durable,

then the MR JAN GEAR RISE XL in Multicam is a very coherent choice. No overloaded design, but a tool that noticeably makes your work and your time on the move easier – whether on the trail, on the train or in the studio.
