Leofoto MT-01+LH-25 mini tripod with LH-25 ball head

Leofoto MT-01 + LH-25: tiny, but anything but delicate

You know how it is: you “just quickly” want to take a photo, but of course the big tripod stays at home because it’s too bulky yet again. And then you’re standing there. Well. The Leofoto MT-01+LH-25 mini tripod with LH-25 ball head is made exactly for these moments: very small, very light, very easy to take along, and still surprisingly load-bearing.

On its own, this mini tripod is already exceptionally strong, because a load screwed on directly – your camera – may weigh up to 6.0 kg. In the set, however, the MT-01 comes together with the Leofoto LH-25 ball head, and that also has a load capacity of 6.0 kg. To be honest, that’s not a disadvantage at all. On the contrary: the idea of a mini tripod is not “half-baked” but “very”: very compact, very light, very quickly packed away. And still stable enough that you don’t have to grit your teeth at every gust of wind.

Material & design: 6061-T6 aluminum, tripod, table, ground, mini

For the material, Leofoto relies on 6061-T6 aluminum. It’s the kind of material that doesn’t make a big fuss, but delivers in everyday use: robust, cleanly finished, and not easily offended if it bumps into something now and then. We like that. Maybe because it’s simply reassuring.

And the design? Here you don’t just get “a tripod” but several roles in one: three-legged tripod, table tripod, ground tripod, mini tripod, and a tripod with head. In practical terms, that means: you put it on the table for product shots, place it close to the ground for perspectives that otherwise require contortions, or use it as a small three-legged tripod when things need to go fast. In short: small but versatile. That’s how it should be.

Travel photography & working close to the ground: that’s exactly what it’s made for

For travel photography, the set is a real joker, because at only 0.34 kg it hardly stands out, but still “comes along for the ride” in your backpack when other gear is already being left behind. And yes, we know: in the end, the piece that actually wins is the one you really have with you.

The design is also very well suited to working close to the ground. With a height of 11.3 cm you can get close to the ground without having to resort to improvisation. And if you’ve ever tried to take a low-angle shot without a stable support, you know: that’s often a fiddly affair. Not here.

Threads & adapter: 1/4" UNC with 3/8" UNC adapter

The connection remains pleasantly compatible: the tripod thread is a 1/4" UNC threaded bolt, and a 3/8" UNC adapter is included. This means the set fits common cameras and accessories without you having to rummage through a drawer for some mysterious intermediate piece. So simple, so good. And yes, we’d rather write it once too clearly than too briefly: the adapter is included.

One section per leg: less frills, more ready to use

There is exactly 1 leg section per leg. That sounds unspectacular, but in everyday use it’s quite pleasant: unpack, set up, get started. No long locking rituals, no “wait, I still have to pull out the second section”. Just snap. And done.
