The Leofoto VH-20 is a tripod head clearly designed for monopods and that’s exactly where it plays to its strengths: precise, pleasantly smooth to operate, and robust enough to keep even heavier setups steady. With a maximum load capacity of up to 12.0 kg, your camera stays firmly under control, which is immediately noticeable in telephoto and sports photography. Not spectacularly loud, just reliably solid – that’s how we like it.
The head is made of aluminum and black anodized, which makes it resistant in everyday use and visually understated. With a height of 10.2 cm, the setup remains compact, and at 0.436 kg it still carries comfortably on a monopod without feeling top-heavy.
2-way tilt head with 180° tilt range plus separate 360° panorama base
The VH-20 works as a 2-way tilt head and at the same time covers the range of a 1-way tilt head, depending on how you use it. You can tilt 90° in each of two directions, giving a total tilt range of 180°. On top of that, there is the panorama axis with a 360° panning range, and yes, there is a separate panorama base. That may sound like a detail, but in practice it makes a difference because you control rotation cleanly separated from tilt.
For fine adjustment, two scales are integrated, one for the tilt angle and one for the rotation angle. Especially for repeatable movements, sports on the sidelines, or when you want to pull a sequence evenly, this is more than just “nice to have”.
38 mm dovetail clamp, Arca-style compatible and secured via screw clamp
The coupling accepts a 38 mm dovetail mount and is, according to the manufacturer, Arca-style compatible. It is secured via a screw clamp – classic, direct, no guesswork. It holds, and when tightening you can feel exactly when it’s really locked in.
