ProMediaGear PLCR56-QD L-bracket pour Canon EOS R5 et R5 MK II, R6 et R6 Mark II avec port QD

ProMediaGear PLCR56-QD L-bracket for Canon EOS R5 & R5 Mark II, R6 & R6 Mark II with QD port

Sometimes a small piece of metal decides whether a shoot runs smoothly or you end up despairing at the tripod. The ProMediaGear PLCR56-QD L-bracket very clearly belongs to the first category: compact, well thought-out, robust, and specifically built for your Canon EOS R5, R5 Mark II, R6 and R6 Mark II – not “kind of fits somehow”.

Canon EOS R5

For the Canon EOS R5, the PLCR56-QD L-bracket is designed to be form-fitting with the camera. This means it sits snugly, without wobbling or twisting, even if you sometimes align the camera a bit more roughly on the tripod head. The contours follow the camera body very closely, so operation remains familiar and you don’t have to constantly change your grip.

All relevant ports and the battery door remain accessible. So you don’t have to remove the L-bracket every time you change the battery or plug in a cable. That may sound like a small thing, but in everyday use it saves a surprising amount of time and nerves.

Canon EOS R5 Mark II

For the Canon EOS R5 Mark II, the L-bracket was designed so that the ventilation slots remain unobstructed. The vented areas on the camera are not covered, so heat dissipation continues to work properly. This is an important point, especially for longer bursts, video recording or time-lapse sessions – one that is easy to forget until it’s too late.

On the R5 Mark II as well, the bracket is form-fitting with the camera; nothing rattles, nothing shifts, even if you frequently switch the camera between portrait and landscape orientation. This keeps the entire combination of camera, L-bracket and tripod head reassuringly stable.

Canon EOS R6

The Canon EOS R6 benefits from the same precise fit. The PLCR56-QD is not a universal L-bracket, but one manufactured specifically for this camera model. As a result, contact surfaces and stop points are exactly where they should be. This reduces twisting in portrait orientation and ensures that your composition is largely preserved when switching from landscape to portrait.

The vertical part is designed to be adjustable. This way you can quickly access the side ports, for example for tethering, microphone or remote release, without having to dismantle everything each time. Many L-brackets mercilessly block access here – this one doesn’t.

Canon EOS R6 Mark II

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II also fits perfectly into this setup. The modular, two-piece design allows for a very clean adaptation to the body, so the L-bracket feels like an integrated part of the camera. The controls remain unobstructed, the display can still be tilted, and the camera still feels comfortable in the hand even with the bracket mounted.

Especially if you use the R6 Mark II frequently in the studio or while traveling, you’ll notice how pleasant it is to have an L-bracket that is truly designed for this model and not just “roughly fits”.

Lightweight, stable L-bracket made from CNC-milled aluminum

The ProMediaGear PLCR56-QD is made from precisely CNC-machined aluminum. The material is robust, torsion-resistant and at the same time light enough not to add unnecessary weight to your kit. The black anodized finish provides a durable surface that withstands scratches and signs of use significantly better than simple paint.

You can feel the manufacturing quality immediately: edges are cleanly deburred, the fits are tight, and the overall feel is more “professional tool” than accessory from the bargain bin. We’d say: once mounted, you’ll hardly want to take it off again.

Modular, two-piece construction for maximum flexibility

The PLCR56-QD has a modular design. Yes, truly modular: the two-piece construction allows the vertical part to be moved or removed if necessary. This lets you adapt the L-bracket to your working style, for example if you shoot mostly in landscape orientation or want to use particularly wide cable plugs.

The modular construction is implemented in such a way that stability does not suffer. The screws sit firmly, and the bracket remains reliably in position even in portrait orientation. For transport, you can make the setup more compact if needed, without having to give up the advantages of a full-featured L-bracket.

ARCA compatible for 38 mm quick-release clamps

The clamping profile of the ProMediaGear PLCR56-QD is ARCA compatible and fits Arca-style compatible (according to the manufacturer) 38 mm quick-release clamps. This allows the L-bracket to be combined with a wide range of tripod heads and quick-release systems, including those from other manufacturers. If you are already using an ARCA compatible system, the PLCR56-QD integrates seamlessly into your setup.

Thanks to the precisely milled profiles, the camera sits securely in the clamp without rocking. At the same time, the L-bracket enables a quick switch between landscape and portrait orientation without having to realign the tripod head. This saves time and helps keep your composition consistent.

QD port and strap eyelet for flexible carrying options

The integrated QD port makes the PLCR56-QD QD compatible. You can use a suitable strap with QD anchors to quickly and securely dock or undock your camera. To use the QD strap mount (yes, a single one), you need a strap with QD strap anchors, which you can purchase separately, for example here: QD strap anchor.

There is also a classic strap eyelet. This allows you to attach conventional camera straps, hand straps or safety tethers. In combination with the additional 1/4-20 inch threaded holes, you get very flexible options for carrying or securing your camera, whether in the studio, on the road or anywhere in between.

Form-fitting anti-twist protection and secure locking

The L-bracket is designed to be form-fitting with the camera, which provides effective anti-twist protection. Especially in portrait orientation, when the camera sits sideways on the tripod head, this design prevents the body from twisting under load. This is important not only for stability, but also for repeatable framing, for example with series shots.

On the underside there is one 1/4 inch UNC photo thread. This allows you to mount the L-bracket directly on tripod plates, sliders or other accessories without having to resort to adapter solutions. The combination of precise fit, stop points and threaded hole results in a very trustworthy connection between camera and support system.

Four safety stop screws for extra security

The ProMediaGear PLCR56-QD is equipped with 4 safety stop screws. These safety stop screws prevent accidental sliding out of the quick-release clamp, even if the clamp is not fully closed or loosens slightly during movement.

Especially when working at greater heights, on railings, rock ledges, or generally in situations where dropping the camera is absolutely not an option, these stoppers provide an extra level of safety. You hope never to see them “in action”, but you’re glad they’re there.

Integrated magnetic hex key holder

A small but very practical detail: the L-bracket features an integrated magnetic hex key holder. The matching hex key is held magnetically in the bracket and is therefore always at hand when you want to tighten or adjust something.

This eliminates the annoying search for tools in your bag or backpack. You pick up the camera, turn the bracket briefly, and the key is right where you expect it. We hardly know anyone who doesn’t come to appreciate this feature very quickly.

Thoughtful details for daily use

In addition to the major features, the PLCR56-QD offers a range of small but very useful details. These include precise centering marks that help you align the camera accurately on the tripod head, for example for panorama shots or series images. The vertical component can be shifted to quickly expose cable ports without having to completely loosen the bracket.

Several 1/4-20 inch threaded points are available for accessories such as small arms, microphones, radio triggers or additional safety tethers. This lets you build your setup very individually without having everything hanging off a single hot shoe.

Compatibility, scope of use and typical applications

The ProMediaGear PLCR56-QD L-bracket is specifically intended for the following cameras: Canon EOS R5, Canon EOS R5 Mark II, Canon EOS R6 and Canon EOS R6 Mark II. It is deliberately not universal; this is precisely what ensures its high accuracy of fit and stability. It is particularly suitable for photographers and videographers who regularly work with a tripod, frequently switch between portrait and landscape orientation, or value repeatable positioning of the camera.

Whether landscape photography, studio work, architecture, product shots or video setups with tethering and accessories: the PLCR56-QD ensures that your mirrorless Canon R-series camera sits on the tripod reliably, safely and comfortably. And yes, it is made in the USA – which is quite evident from the workmanship.
