Augenblicke? Who are we?

Augenblicke-eingefangen is an online shop specialized in photography accessories. We carry products from the manufacturers Really Right StuffKirkLensCoatWimberleyAcratechPromediaGearFlexshooter and many other manufacturers.

We emphasize high quality products that have a long lifespan and fulfill their purpose optimally, bringing joy to photography. Many of the products are typically tested by Christian beforehand, ensuring we only offer products that make sense and have proven themselves in practice.

In our shop, you will find specific camera plates and L-brackets that are tailored for your camera for a perfect fit. You will also find accessories for lenses as well as tripodstripod heads, everything for camouflageweather and rain protectionscrewstools, and much more.

For special applications like macro photographypanorama photography, telephoto photography, photographing from the car, or low-level shots, we have suitable items in our portfolio.

We operate our online shop in Rostock, directly on the Warnow. Occasionally, the kingfisher calls — which makes Christian very excited — but that’s another topic ;-).

Since 2007, we have been shipping the products we select within Germany, Europe, and sometimes beyond. Most of our customers are satisfied, order again, and share their experiences with other photography friends.

In our shop we offer various payment options: advance payment, PayPal Plus, purchase on account via PayPal Plus, and credit card payment. These payment options are secure — so there’s no risk when you shop with us and make a payment (even in advance).

For more transparency, since the end of 2019, we’ve been listed on Shopauskunft, an independent online shop review portal. Customer experiences should provide new website visitors with more confidence in our trustworthiness and the ability to shop without concern. Moreover, customer feedback reinforces what we do — from product selection to honest, individual expert advice, which is probably our greatest strength.

If you can’t find what you're looking for or you're unsure if you’ve found the right item, give us a call, use the live chat, or send us an email. We understand that “what fits on what and for what?” can be confusing, and we deal with it daily, happy to assist you.

The products we offer in the shop are mostly developed and manufactured in the USA. We primarily sell handcrafted items, not mass-produced goods. This means that sometimes products are out of stock both with us and occasionally even with the manufacturer, and so we have to wait. Fortunately, your waiting and patience are often rewarded with a high-quality, unique item. Of course, you are welcome to disclose your source. :-)

How do I find specific accessories for my camera?

Please navigate through the category for Camera Accessories.

Here, you will either immediately discover your camera model or click on Camera L-Brackets or Camera Plates, depending on what you need. If you're in the L-Bracket category, for example, choose the camera manufacturer, such as Nikon, Sony, Canon, Olympus, and then select your camera model from the displayed options (make sure it's the right one with or without a battery grip).

If you cannot find your camera model, there is no specific accessory available, which can happen, especially with older camera models. There are often universal plates or L-brackets available as alternatives.

How do I find specific accessories for my lens?

Please navigate through the category for Lens Accessories.

Here, you will either discover your lens model or click on Lens Plates or Lens Replacement FeetLens Collars, or Lens Protection, depending on what you need. If, for instance, you're in the lens plates category, choose the lens manufacturer, such as Nikon, Sony, Canon, Olympus, and then select your lens model from the available options.

If you can’t find your lens model, there likely won’t be specific accessories available — but certainly alternatives.

Should I register as a customer or shop as a guest?

Since 2019, we have been using the Shopware system (Made in Germany). You can order as a guest (without an account) or as a registered customer.

An account brings you the following benefits:

  • Faster shopping
  • Track the status of your current order
  • Manage customer data yourself - view order history
  • Store different addresses (also possible for shipping to friends or relatives)
  • Create a wish list

I already have an account and can’t log in!

Rarely, you may not be able to log in as usual. In such cases, request a new password and try again. You can change the password at any time. If the login doesn’t work, contact us via email, chat, or phone.

Technology is fascinating, and the devil is sometimes in the details!

The Ordering Process

How do I shop with you?

It’s very simple! Add your desired item(s) to the cart and proceed to checkout. You will either need to log in to your account or register. After entering your shipping information correctly and making required entries, you’ll land back at the cart when you “stand at checkout.” Choose your preferred payment and shipping method.

Finally, review your order:

  • Do the items and quantities match?
  • Are the billing and delivery addresses correct?

If everything’s in order, please check the terms and conditions box and click on buy. You'll be forwarded to the corresponding payment provider's page based on your payment method. Upon completion of your order, you should immediately receive an order confirmation email. Please also check your spam folder, as our emails sometimes end up there.

If you haven’t received an order confirmation email, please contact us. Sometimes a typo slips in the email address, rarely, but it happens.

The Shipping

I ordered something from the shop, what happens next?

If your order and payment are received by 1:00 p.m. and all items are in stock, we will ship on the same day (Monday to Friday, except holidays) via DHL. Our DHL pickup takes place Monday-Friday at 1:50 p.m.

If you didn't manage your order by 1 p.m., don't panic! You have until 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday) to place an order with the DHL EXPRESS shipping option (within Germany). Of course, express shipping requires timely payment and the availability of the item.

Once we have shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with the tracking number, allowing you to track your order.

A few days after shipping, Shop-Auskunft will send you an email asking to rate your shopping experience with us. You agreed to this at the time of the order. These reviews on an independent portal help new clients who are not yet familiar with us, and we appreciate every feedback.

Not all items in my order are immediately available

As a rule, we ship the complete order in one delivery, meaning once all items are in stock.

Can I reserve something?

No. To reserve an item, you need to place an order. If you wish to view the item in person, please leave a comment in your order. We will set it aside and not ship it.

I am nearby — can I stop by?

Sure! You can visit us during business hours (Mon-Thu 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) and even get a coffee or tea. Just give us a call +49 (0) 381 2038 9994 first!

Items not in stock — how long will I have to wait?

As mentioned earlier, we do not sell mass-produced items. The items we offer are special. This means that if we don’t have your desired product in stock, we cannot send it immediately.

The manufacturers Really Right Stuff, Wimberley, Acratech, Kirk, LensCoat, and ProMediaGear are all based in the USA and produce there as well. Since these are fine handcrafted products and not made in large quantities, it can sometimes take a few weeks for us to ship your desired item.

We regularly order from the manufacturers aforementioned, at least once a month.

Products from Really Right Stuff are highly sought after, and we order from this manufacturer more frequently.

For items from LensCoat, it can take up to 24 days for your ordered product to be available, in the worst-case scenario. For current lens models, we usually have the covers in our customers’ preferred camouflage patterns in stock. Popular patterns are Realtree Max4, Forest Green Camo, and recently also Realtree Max5. For older lens models or accessories in other camouflage colors — Digital Camo, Snow, or Black — items are sometimes made to order in the USA. Generally, we receive a delivery from LensCoat twice a month.

We also order regularly from Wimberley, Kirk, Acratech, and ProMediaGear, so you seldom have to wait more than 14 days for your item.

In principle, we always depend on the manufacturers and their availabilities.

Photo accessories for newly released cameras and lenses usually have longer delivery times. Manufacturers need to measure the models to manufacture specifically adapted equipment. This process takes time, and sometimes manufacturers have to come up with new solutions to achieve the perfect fit. Here, patience is required. On average, manufacturers need about 12-16 weeks for developing new accessories after a camera or lens is released. By the way, you can be notified when a non-stocked item becomes available again.

If my DHL shipment takes longer than usual – what should I do?

DHL is our shipping provider. Saturday delivery, as well as delivery to a packing station, is included and possible with DHL. DHL is reliable. Within Germany, delivery takes place within 1-3 business days. Usually. If problems or delays occur, please notify us immediately! We are not tracking every shipment. After your SOS, we promptly contact DHL and try to get your shipment back on track as quickly as possible.

Reimbursement of the German VAT

Preliminary note: Merchants are not obligated to refund VAT.

If you reside abroad (outside the EU) and wish to personally export goods ordered from us, we will refund the German VAT if the following conditions are met:

  1. The billing address must match the residence*.
    Please verify this at checkout – modifications cannot be made afterward!
  2. The total value of the delivery, including VAT, exceeds 50 euros
  3. For reimbursement, the statutory deadline must be met. Export must be proven before the end of the third calendar month following the delivery month
  4. The original invoice must bear the customs stamp and be returned to:

    We will use the same payment method for the VAT refund as you used in the original transaction.

    A processing fee of €3.50 will be deducted from the VAT refund.

    *The place of residence in this context refers to the address entered in the passport or other border-crossing documents.

Determining Shipping Costs

You can easily determine your order's shipping costs before checkout:

  1. Place the desired items in the shopping cart.
  2. Click on "View Cart"
  3. Under "Shipping Details," select the desired country from the "Delivery Country" dropdown menu
  4. The shipping costs along with VAT (depending on the delivery country) will be updated and display on the right side.

The item doesn’t fit – can I exchange it?

Unfortunately, exchanges are not possible. Returns proceed in accordance with the legally regulated right of withdrawal. You can reorder the desired item. Orders are managed separately — interchanging payments will only confuse our accounting.

Returning / Exchanging beyond the withdrawal period

Please understand that we cannot accept returns or exchanges beyond the withdrawal period.

Brands in our portfolio

Yeah, since 2011 we have been an OFFICIAL REALLY RIGHT STUFF DEALER and are allowed to call ourselves that! We know Joe and Joan Johnson (owners of RRS) personally, and they even visited us in Rostock. This establishes a direct connection to RRS. RRS is a manufacturer based in Utah, crafting fine items for cameras and lenses. RRS is also known for its high-quality tripods, which are very lightweight compared to other tripods. And of course, RRS creates the classic: the BH-55! Lever clamps are also popular in our range.

With our other manufacturers in the USA such as Kirk, Acratech, and Wimberley, we have long-standing, trusting relationships — some dating back to 2007.

We have frequently assisted the founder of LensCoat - Scott Elowitz - at Photokina with German-speaking support and thus know him personally as well.

ProMediaGear – The three brothers from Illinois, who are engineers and partly photographers themselves. They think outside the box and have developed innovative flash equipment (like the Boomerang) and sturdy carbon tripods. They gave the classic gimbal a new look and named it Katana.

We also maintain a strong personal connection with Csaba Karai, the owner of FlexShooter. He is the developer of the FlexShooter, a unique cross-lever clamp, and offers various other accessories. We are always keen to see what he is conceptualizing in his Hungarian ideas workshop!

Not a secret tip anymore: Tragopan, with its camouflage tent portfolio, and Camshield, the manufacturer of a new type of lens protection (not made of neoprene) and more useful photography accessories. Jonathan Martinez, a photographer (and ornithologist), is the owner whom we also know personally. Jonathan knows what matters when using a camouflage tent and accordingly, his tents are uniquely equipped. Jonathan has developed the Camoshield Cover, a novel lens camouflage – soon available for selected Canon and Sony lenses.

Mr.JanGear – Manufacturer of floating hides, bean bags, backpacks, and other useful accessories. Mr. Jan develops his products in the Czech Republic and manufactures them in Slovakia. Naturally, we know Mr. Jan personally.

The best for last: with Berlebach / Novoflex / Eckla / König Photobags - all MADE IN GERMANY - we have maintained close business relationships for many years and meet regularly at different photography festivals and fairs. Clearly, for us, a good relationship with our manufacturers is just as important as with our customers. The products are predominantly manufactured in the USA and here in Europe.

Products from Leofoto are made in China but have convinced us with their high quality, price-performance ratio, and innovative offerings.
