If you don’t want to let a lens roll around loosely in your backpack, the JJC JN-L neoprene lens pouch is a pretty straightforward solution. Here we use soft but noticeably durable neoprene that cushions your lens on the go without looking bulky. The material is 5 mm thick; this exact thickness often makes the difference in practice when things get a bit tight in your photo bag.
The pouch is designed for a length of 11.0 cm and holds lenses up to a maximum diameter of 7.0 cm. This typically fits many compact prime lenses or shorter zooms that you like to have quickly at hand instead of burying them deep in your backpack.
5 mm neoprene protection that adapts instead of chafing
Neoprene has a quality you only really appreciate after using it a few times: it conforms lightly, doesn’t press hard on edges, and still protects reliably. We designed the JN-L so that the lens is better protected not only against scratches, but also against minor bumps and friction in your bag. And yes, of course this doesn’t replace a hard case, but for everyday use and when you’re on the go, it’s exactly the kind of protection you actually use.
Hook-and-loop fastener with additional safety tab so it doesn’t pop open unexpectedly
Closing it stays pleasantly simple, but not careless: the pouch is closed with a hook-and-loop fastener and additionally stabilized with a safety tab. That sounds like a small detail, but it’s practical if you open and close the pouch frequently or if it’s hanging on your backpack and moving around. This way the lens stays inside, even when things get a bit bumpy.
Carabiner for attaching to belt or backpack, clipped on in seconds
With the carabiner you can attach the lens pouch directly to a belt loop or your backpack. Especially on photo walks this is convenient, because you don’t have to open your entire backpack every time. Clip it on, start walking, grab it quickly when needed. Done. And if you prefer to carry the pouch inside, the carabiner doesn’t really get in the way; it’s just there when you need it.
