Leofoto EB-36 ball head with quick-release plate

Leofoto EB-36 ball head with quick-release plate, compact and precise

The Leofoto EB-36 is a ball head that is pleasantly small, but feels quite grown-up in everyday use. With a 36 mm ball diameter and a height of 7.5 cm, it fits well on travel setups without forcing you to compromise on smooth adjustment. The panning base measures 4.5 cm in diameter, which ensures a stable support and a smooth feel when rotating.

Leofoto uses aluminum as the material here, which keeps the weight at 0.27 kg.

Rotate 360 degrees, tilt to portrait, finely adjust friction

The ball head can be rotated 360 degrees, and you can tilt the camera from landscape to portrait orientation without any fiddly adjustments. You set the friction via a control knob, in a way that allows very fine tuning. This is especially valuable with slightly heavier combinations, because the movement remains controlled and doesn’t suddenly “drop away.” There is also a separate panorama base, which is simply more practical for smooth pans than doing everything via the ball.

Arca-style compatible quick-release clamp with screw lock

According to the manufacturer, the clamp accepts an Arca-style compatible 38 mm dovetail profile. If you already use plates or L-brackets in the system, it will usually fit directly without adapters or fuss. We have deliberately kept the note on ARCA compatible here, because it simply saves time in everyday use.

Clamping is done via a screw lock, i.e. a classic screw clamp. It’s not spectacular, but reliable, and when tightening you can feel quite well when it is really secure.

Load capacity, mount and areas of use where the EB-36 makes sense

With a maximum load of 10.0 kg, the EB-36 is not intended only for lightweight setups. We recommend it for mirrorless and DSLR cameras, as well as for medium format, depending on the combination and center of gravity. It is well suited for travel photography, reportage photography and landscape photography, because it can be aligned quickly and takes up little space.

The connection to your tripod is via a 3/8 UNC internal thread. This is the common standard, so in most cases you just screw it on and you’re ready to go.
