Leofoto SF-01 Replacement Foot for Selected Sony FE GM Lenses
If you find the standard Sony lens foot too tall, too bulky, or simply awkward when working with a tripod, the Leofoto SF-01 offers a compact, practical alternative. This replacement foot mounts in place of the original foot and is designed for selected Sony FE GM telephoto lenses.
The Leofoto SF-01 is designed for the following Sony lenses:

Its lower profile brings your camera-and-lens setup closer to the tripod head. The replacement foot is also more compact than the standard lens foot. You’ll especially appreciate this during long photo sessions, when traveling, or when frequently switching between handheld, tripod, and gimbal use.
Leofoto SF-01 with Integrated QD Strap Attachment
A particularly practical feature is the integrated QD strap attachment. It lets you attach a compatible camera strap directly to the lens foot and comfortably carry your telephoto lens and camera over your shoulder or across your body. The QD connection can be quickly released when switching to a tripod or gimbal.
To use the QD attachment, you’ll need a compatible strap with QD strap anchors. This means you don’t have to keep fitting extra loops or adapters to the tripod collar for carrying your gear.
Arca-Style-Compatible Profile-No Additional Quick-Release Plate Required
The Leofoto SF-01 has an integrated dovetail profile on its underside, so it can be used directly with compatible Arca-Style-compatible quick-release systems. This means you don’t need an additional quick-release plate beneath the lens foot.
This saves height and weight and provides a direct connection between the lens foot and the quick-release clamp. It’s especially convenient when frequently switching between handheld photography, a tripod, and a gimbal, as there are fewer parts to attach and check.
The clamp profile is designed for widely used systems, including ProMediaGear, Wimberley, Really Right Stuff, Jobu Design, Kirk, and FlexShooter clamps, as well as compatible 38 mm Arca-style quick-release clamps.
6061-T6 Aluminum with a Black Anodized Finish
The SF-01 is made of 6061-T6 aluminum, combining low weight with high strength. This makes the lens foot suitable for regular outdoor use and for heavy telephoto lenses, where a stable connection between the lens and tripod is particularly important.
The black anodized finish protects the aluminum and complements the design of Sony GM lenses with a subtle look. The dark finish also reduces distracting reflections when shooting outdoors or at events.
Safety Stop Screws and Additional Tripod Threads
There are two safety stop screws on the underside. They help prevent the lens foot from accidentally slipping out of a compatible quick-release clamp-for example, if the clamp hasn’t been fully opened while repositioning the lens.
The SF-01 also has a 1/4"-UNC tripod thread and a 3/8"-UNC tripod thread. This lets you use the lens foot with tripod heads, adapters, or quick-release plates that don’t have an Arca-Style-compatible clamp.
Low Profile for Balance and Controlled Handling
Its lower-profile design brings the center of gravity of your camera-and-lens setup closer to the tripod head. This can improve handling, especially with longer and heavier telephoto lenses, and makes it easier to balance the setup on gimbals or video heads.
With lenses such as the Sony FE 300mm, 400mm, or 600mm, a compact connection between the lens and tripod system can make handling easier in practical use. The setup is also neater to carry, since there’s no need for an additional quick-release plate beneath the lens foot.
For Wildlife, Sports, Action, and Telephoto Photography
The Leofoto SF-01 is specifically designed as a replacement for the standard lens foot on compatible Sony FE GM lenses. This makes it particularly suitable for photographers who frequently use heavy telephoto lenses on a tripod or gimbal. Tip
Like all mechanical components, QD adapters need occasional care to keep their pins working reliably. We maintain our adapters with Ballistol or WD-40.
