Kirk QD Push Button Swivel-D Strap Adapter
Kirk QD Push Button Swivel-D for flexible camera straps
Sometimes it’s just one small part that suddenly makes an entire setup run smoothly. The Kirk QD Push Button Swivel-D strap adapter is exactly such a component: a compact, high-load strap anchor that securely connects your camera or lens to a camera strap with a suitable attachment such as carabiners or clips, for example on systems like BlackRapid and similar carrying straps.
You simply click the adapter into a QD strap socket on your camera or lens plate, and you instantly have a stable, QD-compatible connection for your strap. No fiddling, no screwing, no need to rebuild your setup every time. Click in, done.
Push-button lock with additional protection
The push-button lock is at the center of the design. The snap mechanism locks cleanly into the QD socket and stays there until you deliberately press the release button. Only then will the adapter detach again. This makes accidental detachment in everyday use, for example when quickly swinging the camera around or catching it on your jacket, much less likely.
On top of the push button sits an additional protective contour that further secures the adapter against unintentional release. This small but crucial design improvement ensures that the strap anchor holds reliably even during hectic movements or long reportage days.
Proven QD technology for camera and lens
The technology behind it is not experimental, but a system with long-standing practical use. Applied to photography, this means: you get a strap adapter that can confidently handle even heavy cameras and fast telephoto lenses.
In combination with suitable quick-release plates with QD socket, completely new possibilities open up. You can snap your camera strap on and off in an instant and be back working on a tripod the next moment, without having to remove the strap each time or rebuild complicated adapters.
Flush integration on quick-release plates
The QD mount of this adapter is designed to sit flush in quick-release plates with a QD socket. The Kirk QD Push Button Swivel-D strap adapter finishes cleanly level with the surface of the plate, with nothing protruding annoyingly. This not only looks tidy, but also reduces the risk of snagging on something or accidentally twisting the adapter.
Especially if you frequently switch between handheld work with a strap and a stable setup on a tripod, this flush integration shows its strengths: release the strap, place the camera on the quick-release clamp, keep working. This smooth workflow pays off by the second job at the latest.
D-loop for carabiners, clips and narrow straps
The characteristic feature of this strap anchor is the D-shaped bracket, the so-called Swivel-D. It is ideal for narrow straps, straps with carabiners or clips, and also for many modern sling straps. The D-loop offers a stable, easily accessible attachment point without adding unnecessary bulk.
Thanks to the rotating design, the strap can turn with your movements, which reduces twisting of the strap and increases carrying comfort. This is particularly practical if you frequently rotate the camera from landscape to portrait format or carry it at your side.
Robust materials for daily use
This solution makes no compromises when it comes to materials. The housing is made of black anodized aluminum, which provides an excellent balance of strength and low weight. This is complemented by coated steel on the load-bearing components, which offers additional hardness and corrosion protection.
Thanks to its compact design, the adapter remains pleasantly unobtrusive on your setup while still providing the necessary stability for professional applications. It’s a small part that you ideally hardly notice-until the moment you don’t have it with you.
Precisely manufactured and built for long-term use
The high-quality workmanship makes the strap anchor a durable solution for demanding use. The design is compact, resilient, and intended for long-term functionality. If you are looking for a robust connection between camera and strap, this is a well-thought-out addition to a secure carrying system.
Especially with frequent attaching and detaching, precisely machined components show their strengths: less play, less wear, less hassle. This way you can rely on the adapter to continue working smoothly even after many uses.
QD-compatible strap anchor for modern carrying systems
As a strap anchor with QD-compatible push-button technology, this adapter is ideal if you want to use existing carabiner straps or straps with clips on camera or lens plates with QD sockets. It forms the bridge between modern quick-release plates and flexible carrying systems.

Tip
Like all mechanical components, QD adapters need a bit of maintenance from time to time so that the pins continue to function reliably. We maintain our adapters with Ballistol or WD-40.
