Leofoto LM-365C Summit carbon tripod

Leofoto LM-365C Summit carbon tripod: stable, compact, amazingly versatile

If you’re looking for a three-legged tripod that doesn’t get on your nerves in your backpack but still gives you real stability out in the field, the Leofoto LM-365C Summit is a very good fit. It supports up to 25 kg, remains pleasantly portable at 1.97 kg, and has a transport length of 490 mm. The maximum working height is 1.54 m, and for low-angle perspectives it goes down to 8.0 cm. Yes, that’s really low, especially for macro work or when you want to work close to the ground in rough terrain.

10-layer carbon and leg sections with large diameters

The legs are made from 10-layer carbon. You notice that not only on the spec sheet, but especially in terms of rigidity and vibration damping – exactly where things tend to get critical with telephoto lenses and long exposures. The leg sections are deliberately beefy: 36 / 32 / 28 / 25 / 22 mm. There are 5 sections, which is how the tripod manages to pack down to a compact 49 cm despite its stability. Sounds like a compromise, but in practice it feels more like a well-thought-out balance.

75 mm bowl mount, removable platform, and bubble level

The LM-365C is equipped with a 75 mm bowl mount. The tripod platform is removable and has a bubble level, so you can level your setup more quickly without endlessly fiddling with the head. And because the platform is removable, you can easily swap it for the supplied video adapter bowl. That’s handy if you switch between photo and video or want to work with a 75 mm solution, such as leveling bowls or tripod heads with an integrated 75 mm half ball.

There is also a 3/8 UNC thread on the tripod shoulder where you can mount optional accessories, for example an arm, a clamp, or whatever else your setup requires.

Areas of use: from landscape to studio

We recommend the Leofoto LM-365C Summit carbon tripod for landscape and telephoto photography, because the design is very stable and handles vibrations well. At the same time, it’s great fun for macro photography and low-angle work, because the minimum working height of 8.0 cm gives you perspectives that would otherwise quickly become frustrating. Architectural photography benefits from precise leveling via the bubble, and in studio photography the high load capacity of 25 kg is a real plus when you need to support more than just a lightweight camera.

Optional upgrades: center column and leveling insert

If you occasionally need more height or flexibility, a center column can be added as an optional upgrade. A leveling insert is also optionally available, which can be a very pleasant addition depending on your working style, especially when things need to go quickly and the ground is uneven.
