The Wimberley AP-614 is a precisely fitting replacement lens foot for the Sony 100-400mm f/4.5 GM OSS FE [SEL100400MC] from the 2026 model year. It replaces the original tripod foot and offers you a stable, precise and practical solution when you want to use your telezoom directly in a quick-release clamp.

Stable connection for your telezoom

Thanks to its construction from 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel, the AP-614 combines low weight with high load capacity. The black anodized surface protects the material and ensures a discreet, high-quality appearance. At around 94 g, the foot remains pleasantly light without compromising on stability and handling.

Arca-style compatible profile on the Wimberley AP-614

According to the manufacturer, the clamp profile is suitable for Arca-style compatible 38 mm quick-release clamps. This allows you to quickly mount the lens on suitable tripod heads, tilters or gimbals and remove it just as quickly. The two safety stop screws help prevent accidental slipping out of the quick-release clamp.

QD mount for flexible carrying

The Wimberley AP-614 has a QD strap mount. To use it, you need a suitable strap with QD strap anchors. This allows you to carry your lens-camera setup comfortably and quickly switch between carrying strap and tripod use when needed.

Compact dimensions for mobile use

With a length of approx. 12.2 cm, a width of 3.8 cm and a height of 2.54 cm, the AP-614 is compact enough for regular use in a camera backpack, yet still offers a well-usable contact surface for your Sony telezoom. Especially in nature photography, wildlife, sports and longer stakeouts, the replacement foot supports you with a direct, stable connection to the tripod system.

Tip

Like all mechanical components, QD adapters need occasional maintenance so that the pins function reliably. We maintain our adapters with Ballistol or WD-40.
