LensCoat LensPouch lens case XXL Short (Ø13.9cmx21.6cm) Forest Green Camo

LensCoat LensPouch Lens Case XXL Short Forest Green Camo, compact security for large optics

With the LensCoat LensPouch Lens Case XXL Short in Forest Green Camo you get an amazingly spacious yet pleasantly short protective cover for your lenses in your gear. The dimensions of Ø 13.9 cm x 21.6 cm are made for chunkier but not overly long lenses and accessories that you don’t want flying around loosely in your backpack when you’re on the go.

The pouch is specially designed for more voluminous lenses and is, for example, an excellent fit for the Nikon 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR NIKKOR, the Nikon Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S NIKKOR (2022) or the Fuji 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR XF. At the same time, it can be folded flat when you don’t need it, which is practical when your backpack is already bursting at the seams while traveling.

Soft neoprene protects against impacts and scratches

The LensPouch is made of soft yet shape-retaining neoprene that reliably surrounds and cushions your lens, ball head or other photo accessories during transport. The material acts like a padded sleeve that significantly softens bumps, jostling in crowds or setting the bag down roughly on the ground, thus protecting against impacts and scratches.

An additional hard-foam plate is integrated into the bottom of the lens case, which protects the front element of your lens from pressure and impacts from below. This is a crucial point, especially for high-quality telephoto lenses, because a knock to the front element can quickly become expensive. With this construction, the sensitive glass front is much better shielded, even if you set the bag down a bit more roughly.

Neoprene with insulating function

The neoprene material of the LensCoat LensPouch naturally provides an insulating function. It acts as a kind of buffer between the outside temperature and the lens barrel. This can help to somewhat soften strong temperature changes, for example when you move from outdoors into a warm interior in winter or step out of an air-conditioned car into blazing sun in summer.

The pouch does not replace full climate control, but it helps to ensure that metal and glass do not heat up or cool down quite as abruptly. For sensitive optics and electronic components in the lens, this is definitely a plus. And besides, the neoprene feels pleasantly soft in the hand when you carry the pouch directly.

Helps against weather, dirt, dust & moisture

When used outdoors, whether in the forest, on the coast or on dusty country roads, the LensPouch helps you protect your equipment from typical environmental influences. The closed neoprene shell and the practical drawstring at the top edge help against weather, dirt, dust & moisture by preventing particles and splashes of water from easily reaching your lens.

Especially if you use your Nikon 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR NIKKOR, Nikon Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S NIKKOR (2022) or Fuji 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR XF frequently in the field, you will notice how convenient it is to simply slide the lens safely into the pouch in between shots instead of putting it unprotected into your backpack. The LensPouch significantly reduces dirt, dust and light moisture and keeps your equipment ready for use for longer.

Well-thought-out closure system with drawstring

The LensCoat LensPouch XXL Short is closed with a robust drawstring. You simply pull the opening shut, secure the cord with the stopper and your lens sits protected in the pouch. This is quick to do, even with cold fingers or thin gloves, and in everyday use it is much more practical than complicated zippers that tend to snag.

Important for the right fit: when choosing the appropriate size, you should add about 2 to 2.5 cm to the actual lens length. This ensures that the LensPouch can be neatly closed at the top and that the drawstring does not press directly on the lens. This small allowance ensures that the pouch fits comfortably and that the closure can be operated without any problems.

Flexible attachment: belt loop and carabiner

On the outside of the lens case you will find a loop about 2.54 cm wide, which you can use to attach the LensPouch to a belt or modular carrying systems. This way you have your telephoto lens or ball head quickly at hand without having to rummage through your backpack every time. For many outdoor or sports photographers this is a real comfort gain.

In addition, a sturdy carabiner hook is integrated. This allows you to attach the pouch to a camera bag, backpack or gear loop. These dual attachment options give you more freedom in how you organize your setup, whether you prefer to carry everything on a belt or distribute it modularly across different bags.

Folds flat for travel and storage

When the LensCoat LensPouch XXL Short is not in use, it can easily be folded flat when empty. This saves space in the cupboard, camera bag or luggage. You can easily take several sizes with you without them clogging up your suitcase.

This is particularly practical on longer trips where you don’t always know which setup you will actually use in the end: you simply take one or two additional LensPouch sizes with you, and if you decide on a different lens on location, you spontaneously have the right protective cover at hand.

Various sizes, XXL Short as the chunky, short variant

The LensCoat LensPouch series covers a wide range of lens sizes. There is X Small with Ø 7.6 x 10.2 cm, Small with Ø 8.1 x 15.2 cm, Small Wide with Ø 10.2 x 12.7 cm, Medium with Ø 8.9 x 20.3 cm, Medium Wide with Ø 11.4 x 16.5 cm, Large with Ø 9.1 x 22.8 cm, Large Wide with Ø 11.4 x 20.3 cm, X Large with Ø 10.1 x 30.5 cm, X Large Wide with Ø 12.7 x 27.9 cm, 2X Large with Ø 13.9 x 31.8 cm, the 2X Large Short variant with Ø 13.9 x 21.6 cm as well as 3X Large with Ø 15.2 x 33.0 cm.

The LensCoat LensPouch Lens Case XXL Short described here, with a diameter of 13.9 cm and a height of 21.6 cm, is therefore the ideal choice for rather short but voluminous telephoto lenses or for compactly built super-telephoto prime lenses. It offers enough space for robust lenses without wasting unnecessary height and closes neatly with the drawstring.

Ideal for several telephoto lenses from Nikon and Fuji

Due to its dimensions, the LensPouch XXL Short is particularly suitable for telephoto lenses such as the Nikon 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR NIKKOR, the Nikon Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S NIKKOR (2022) or the Fuji 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR XF. These optics benefit from the generous internal width and solid padding without “disappearing” in an overly long pouch.

This allows you to transport your high-quality telephoto lenses safely, whether you drive to the sports field by car, take the train into the city or fly to a more distant photo location. The combination of neoprene padding, hard-foam base and secure drawstring makes the LensPouch a very practical solution for demanding photographers who do not want to leave their equipment to chance.

Forest Green Camo, camouflage with function

The Forest Green Camo design is not just a visual gimmick but can be genuinely useful in the field. In forest and natural environments, the pouch is less conspicuous, which can be pleasant especially for wildlife or nature photography. Your equipment appears less “technical” and blends a bit more unobtrusively into the surroundings.

At the same time, the surface remains robust and easy to care for. Light soiling can usually be wiped off easily, and the camouflage pattern hides minor signs of wear quite well, so the pouch still looks neat even after intensive use.
