f-stop Shinn 80L DuraDiamond™ backpack Anthracite Black
f-stop Shinn 80L DuraDiamond™ Backpack Anthracite Black, when your camera setup is simply bigger
Sometimes a regular camera backpack just isn’t enough anymore. When you’re out and about with full-size cine rigs, multiple camera bodies, heavy telephoto lenses and a bunch of accessories – whether hiking in the mountains, on film sets or on multi-day productions – the f-stop Shinn 80L DuraDiamond™ plays in a completely different league. It is consistently designed for large camera setups and takes the whole transport issue quite elegantly off your shoulders.
80 liters of volume for large camera setups and cine rigs
With its 80-liter capacity, the Shinn isn’t just “a bit bigger”, it’s more like the mobile base station for your entire system. Large cine rigs, gimbal setups, multiple bodies, lenses from wide-angle to big telephoto, audio gear, drone, batteries, filters – everything finds its place, neatly organized and well protected. Especially when you shoot or film outdoors, it’s nice not to have to constantly decide what has to stay at home.
The backpack is specifically designed for extensive camera setups and professional cine rigs. You notice this in the proportions, the stability and the access options. You can store your setup so that it’s not only safe but also quickly accessible, without getting lost in a zipper labyrinth along the way.
DuraDiamond™ material: lighter, tougher, more weather-resistant
The core of the exterior is the f-stop DuraDiamond™ material. It’s designed to take wind, rain, slush and the occasional rock contact in its stride. At the same time, the backpack remains surprisingly light for its size. The material is more weather-resistant, more robust and still lighter than many classic nylon variants typically found on trekking or camera backpacks.
This really pays off on longer hikes or approaches to remote spots: less weight of its own, more capacity for gear. And if you get caught in a shower or the backpack ends up in wet grass, there’s no need to panic – the material is made precisely for these situations.
Carrying comfort on tour: BLOOM™ foam and aluminum frame
An 80-liter backpack packed full of camera equipment is no lightweight. So that you can still carry it properly, the Shinn relies on a sturdy aluminum frame and well-thought-out padding. The integrated frame ensures even weight distribution and gives the backpack the necessary rigidity so it doesn’t “sag” when fully loaded.
BLOOM™ foam is used in the shoulder straps and hip belt. This foam significantly increases carrying comfort, adapts nicely to your body and helps to avoid pressure points, especially when you’re on the move with the backpack for several hours. The fixed torso length of about 42 cm is designed for a stable, secure fit, particularly when you move a lot, climb, or walk on uneven terrain.
With an empty weight of around 2.6 kg, the Shinn remains well within reason for its size and stability. Height about 68.8 cm, width 40.6 cm, depth 30.5 cm – that sounds dry, but in practice it means: plenty of space without the backpack becoming unwieldy.
Thought-out organization: pockets, lid, back panel and laptop compartment
To make sure you can store not only a lot, but also in a sensible way, the f-stop Shinn offers a range of cleverly distributed compartments. In the lid, on the back panel and in the outer pockets you’ll find numerous options for storing accessories, cables, batteries, memory cards, tools and personal items in an organized way. That way you don’t have to “dig out” the entire backpack every time you’re looking for a small part.
A special detail is the padded laptop compartment in the back panel. Your notebook is well protected there, sits close to your back and has a positive effect on weight distribution. Ideal if you want to review footage on the go, back up data or work directly on set.
Robust hardware and weather-resistant details
On a backpack of this size, the small components are often the weak point, and that’s exactly where improvements were made. The combination of T6 aluminum and high-quality plastic fittings provides additional stability at critical carrying and attachment points. This includes, for example, the attachments of the shoulder straps, hip belt and load-control straps, which really have to work hard when the pack is fully loaded.
Improved, weather-resistant zippers provide additional protection for your gear against moisture and dust. They run smoothly, yet are robust enough for tough outdoor use. On the front there is a welded Hypalon patch which is not only visually striking, but also serves as an especially durable reinforcement when the backpack bumps against rocks, edges or during transport in a vehicle.
Side pockets, mesh and practical external features
On the sides you’ll find mesh pockets that are perfect for water bottles, tripods with a small pack size, umbrellas or accessories you need quickly. The flexible material holds items securely while allowing air to circulate – practical if something is damp or you want quick access on the move.
Overall, the Shinn is designed so that you can attach everything on the outside that you don’t necessarily want inside, such as additional tripods, trekking poles or lightweight outdoor gear. Especially when hiking or on longer tours, this is a real advantage because it keeps the interior free for sensitive equipment.
Interior with ICU system: flexibly adaptable
The f-stop Shinn 80L is delivered without ICU. This means you get the backpack without an internal photo divider, so you can choose the right ICU insert separately. This modular system is particularly practical if you use different setups – sometimes more photo, sometimes more video, sometimes a mix with drone or audio.
Please note: The photo divider (ICU) must be ordered separately. You can easily assess which ICU sizes and shapes are compatible based on the product images and the following list. This way you can put together exactly the combination that suits your workflow.
Compatible ICU models for the f-stop Shinn 80L
The Shinn is compatible with a whole range of ICU variants, allowing you to fine-tune the internal layout to your needs:
- Micro Tiny, for minimalist setups or as an addition to other gear
- Small Shallow, ideal for flatter lenses or more compact bodies
- Small Pro, for small but professionally equipped kits
- Medium Shallow, when you need more surface area but less depth
- Medium Slope, with graduated depth, practical for mixed lens sizes
- Large Pro, for extensive full-frame or cine kits
- XLarge Pro, maximum use of the interior for large setups
- Cine Master, tailored specifically to cine rigs and film equipment
This allows you to configure the interior of the Shinn exactly the way you need it for your productions, from a lightweight hiking setup to a fully equipped cine rig.
Dimensions, weight and use when hiking
With dimensions of about 68.8 cm in height, 40.6 cm in width and 30.5 cm in depth, the f-stop Shinn 80L DuraDiamond™ Backpack Anthracite Black is large enough for serious film and photo gear, yet still comfortable to carry even when you cover longer distances on foot. The fixed torso length of around 42 cm is designed for stability and comfort, especially when you carry the backpack for several hours while hiking.
This makes the Shinn a very good choice for anyone who regularly travels with heavy camera equipment in rough terrain, whether in the mountains, on the coast or anywhere in between. It combines the capacity of an expedition backpack with the structure and protection of a professional camera backpack.
