Leofoto LS-365CEX Ranger carbon tripod with integrated leveling
When the ground is uneven, you don’t want to have to “tweak” each leg individually until the camera finally stands straight. That’s exactly what the Leofoto LS-365CEX Ranger is made for: a three-legged carbon tripod with integrated leveling that noticeably makes horizontal alignment easier for you without making things complicated.
The leveling base allows up to 15° tilt in any direction. This lets you comfortably bring your camera–lens combination into level, which is simply crucial for video and panorama shots. And yes, many people are happy to accept that maximum load capacity is not the only priority, although the LS-365CEX, with a load capacity of up to 15 kg, is in any case very solid.
Integrated leveling insert with bubble level and secure locking
The leveling insert is integrated and can be locked and, of course, released again using a strong locking knob. A bubble level is also on board, clearly visible, so you don’t have to guess when aligning.
For mounting a tripod head there is a 3/8 inch screw. In addition, three set screws ensure that a mounted head cannot twist. This is one of those details you only miss when it’s not there.
Legs, sections and angles: stable, smooth, capable of working close to the ground
You have five sections per leg that slide cleanly and smoothly. The tube diameters are strongly graduated: 36, 32, 28, 25 and 22 mm. This provides stability, especially when you are working with a telephoto lens or don’t want to keep tightening things in the wind.
You can set the leg angles in three stages, at 23°, 55° and 85°. This makes working close to the ground really effective, for example for macro photography or when you want to stay low in nature. The minimum working height is 10.2 cm, which is very close to the ground. At the same time, you can reach a maximum working height of 1.555 m, so there is plenty of leeway for most setups, even with a DSLR.
For travel, telephoto, architecture and hide photography: one tripod, many uses
We see the LS-365CEX as a very suitable choice for travel photography because, despite its solid dimensions, it remains easy to transport. The transport length is 55 cm, and the weight is 1.95 kg. Not ultra-light, but comfortable to carry, and the stability provided by carbon and the large leg tubes is often worth the difference.
The integrated leveling also plays to its strengths in telephoto, hide and architectural photography, because you can align cleanly more quickly instead of wasting time on uneven leg lengths. And if you like to work precisely, you’ll notice this small time saving more often than you think.
Scope of delivery: everything you really need outdoors
The Leofoto LS-365CEX is supplied in a practical carrying bag. There is also a multi-tool so you can make small adjustments on the go. Rubber feet are included as standard, and for a firm grip on soft or slippery surfaces, a set of stainless steel spikes is also included.
