JJC DLP-7II Lens Case Deluxe Lens Pouch 125 x 290 mm
JJC DLP-7II Lens Pouch Deluxe Lens Pouch 125 x 290 mm, robust protection for long telephoto lenses
Let’s be honest: long telephoto lenses are sensitive divas. Big, heavy, expensive, and that’s exactly why you don’t want to just throw them into your backpack. The JJC DLP-7II lens pouch is built precisely for this purpose: a sturdy, well-padded protective pouch that’s specially designed for longer lenses and similar devices and simply doesn’t get in the way in everyday use.
Perfect fit for large telephoto lenses, and even for the JBL Xtreme
The interior of the pouch measures about 125 mm in diameter and 290 mm in height; on the outside you get approximately 165 mm in diameter and 320 mm in height. This makes the JJC DLP-7II a perfect match for many popular telephoto zooms. You can easily store typical super-telephoto lenses such as the Nikon 200–500mm f/5.6E ED VR AF-S NIKKOR or the Tamron 150–600mm f/5–6.3 Di VC USD G2 SP. The long zooms from Sigma, such as the Sigma 150–500mm f/5–6.3 DG OS APO HSM or the Sigma 150–600mm f/5–6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary, also fit in here without being squeezed.
Interesting for Canon users: a Canon RF 800mm f/11 IS STM (2020) can also be transported in this pouch, as long as you stay within the specified dimensions. And if you don’t want to take a lens with you but your portable Bluetooth speaker instead, the JBL Xtreme also fits into the DLP-7II. A bit unexpected, but very practical if you want to combine a photo trip with music.
Durable outer material and soft padding inside
On the outside, JJC uses a hard-wearing polyester fabric that can handle quite a lot in everyday life. Small bumps, tightly packed backpacks, briefly wedged in the trunk – the material is designed to take such situations in stride. Inside, all-round foam padding ensures that impacts are effectively absorbed and your lens doesn’t rattle around in the pouch with every step.
The outer material is water-repellent, which is quite reassuring in a sudden shower or on damp grass. Of course, it doesn’t replace a full-on underwater housing, but it does let you travel much more relaxed in the face of rain, splashes, and general moisture.
Thoughtful details: two-way zipper and accessory pocket
The lid is closed with a deep blue two-way zipper that’s not only a small visual highlight, but above all practical. You can open it from both sides, position the zipper pull where it suits you best, and don’t have to fiddle around. The two zipper sliders have small loops so you can connect them with a small lock if needed. It’s not a high-security safe, but on trains, buses, or at events it’s a pleasant extra layer of protection.
In the lid you’ll find a mesh pocket that’s great for stowing small items. Lens caps, a small remote, a microfiber cloth, maybe a filter in its case – things like that tend to disappear into backpack nirvana. Here you have them right on the lens pouch, within easy reach and somewhat organized. The inner pocket helps you stay organized without having to rummage through your entire backpack every time.
Flexible carrying options: shoulder, belt, or simply in your hand
You have several options for carrying it, and that’s exactly what makes the JJC DLP-7II so pleasant to use day to day. First, there are two D-rings to which you can attach the included padded shoulder strap. For longer distances, city walks, or hikes, this is often the most comfortable solution, because you can shift the weight from your hand to your shoulder.
In addition, there are two woven loop eyelets that give you more options for attaching a shoulder strap. This lets you adapt the pouch to your preferred carrying style, whether higher up on the body or hanging a bit lower. On the back there is a narrower double-touch belt loop that is also compatible with many system belts, such as those from Lowepro. If you like working with a hip belt or photo belt, you can attach the pouch directly there and always have the lens within reach.
On top of the lid there is also a carrying handle that lets you quickly grab and carry the pouch for short distances. This is practical when you’re just taking it out of the car, moving it around in the studio, or changing locations and don’t immediately want to use the shoulder strap. Sometimes this simple handle is all you need, and that’s exactly what it’s there for.
Protection and comfort for everyday use, compact, lightweight, unobtrusive
At around 311 g, the JJC DLP-7II remains pleasantly light. Combined with its compact external dimensions, the pouch can be easily integrated into larger camera backpacks or travel bags without making you feel like you’re lugging around an extra suitcase just for one lens. It offers enough stability to protect your gear effectively without being unnecessarily bulky.
All in all, the JJC DLP-7II lens pouch gives you robust, everyday protection for long telephoto lenses and similar devices, with flexible carrying options, sensible organization, and suitability for both photo shoots and mixed trips with tech and speaker. Not an over-the-top high-end gadget, but a well-thought-out, reliable work tool that simply gives you one less thing to worry about when you’re on the go.
