So if you already have several cameras or tripod heads equipped with matching plates, you can usually keep using them as they are. Click in once and you’re done. No constant swapping of plates, no “Which plate fits again?”. Everything stays pleasantly straightforward.

Easy attachment to straps and belts up to 64 mm wide

The Capture Clip v3 can be attached to almost any strap or belt up to 64 millimeters wide and up to 15 millimeters thick. Whether backpack strap, hip belt, camera bag, or regular trouser belt, the clip is clamped together with two screws and then sits firmly in place.

Handling is surprisingly simple. You loosen the two screws, place the clip around the strap, tighten them again, and that’s basically it. No special tools required, no complicated setup – more of a “screw it on and head out” moment.

Non-slip inner surface for a secure hold

On the inside of the clip there is a ribbed plastic surface. This ensures that the Capture Clip v3 does not slide uncontrollably back and forth on the strap. Particularly useful if you move around a lot, hike, cycle, or are constantly getting in and out of vehicles in the city.

Standard Plate with surrounding Arca-style profile

Included in the box is the Peak Design Standard Plate, a camera plate with a surrounding Arca-style profile. This means you can clamp it directly into many Arca-style compatible tripod heads without having to constantly swap plates. From the clip to the tripod and back again – this transition is very smooth.

The plate is attached to your camera with a 1/4-inch camera screw and sits flat under the camera base. This keeps the camera stable when you set it down and prevents protruding edges from getting in the way. Especially pleasant when you occasionally place the camera on a table or wall.

Materials, load capacity, weight, and dimensions at a glance

The Capture Clip v3 is made of black anodized aluminum. This material is robust, corrosion-resistant, and usually still looks very presentable even after intensive use. The load capacity is up to 90 kilograms, which in practice means that even heavy cameras with large lenses are more than adequately secured.

Weighing only about 70 grams for the clip alone, it hardly adds any weight to your pack. The compact dimensions of approximately 20 x 83 x 40 millimeters ensure that it can easily adapt to a wide variety of straps without being bulky. Small, but pretty tough.
